Just Back and a few complaints

So by that you mean we should just all be inconsiderate so and so's??? Maybe I should bring along a super soaker and have the kids use that in line? After all, it is just a toy and it is just water, no big deal, right? As long as they are entertained and not screaming, why bother looking for something that keeps the kids happy and doesn't annoy others?

aaah yes let's pull out the old hyperbole argument, because a super soaker and soap bubbles are soooo alike.....
this thread is proof that you guys will be irritated by anything and everything. so if moms had to try to weed out what would keep everyone in line happy they wouldn't be any kids in the line at all.

I'm firmly in the other crowd. If little kids with soap bubbles annoy you, don't go to disney.

On my trip in May, most were wearing gloves, not all, but most.
I kind of think guest should start request the guards to put on clean gloves each time they start to check someone's bags. The current system might keep the guard from getting nasties from a bag but it doesn't do anything to stop the germs from the countless bags they've searched before you. Maybe if quests did that Disney would stop the nonsense and move to another more efficient method of providing a false sense of security... you know x-ray machines where your bags just zipped through and some bleary eyed guard would bless each bag as being gun free. Such a system would actually be better than the bag checks which often times see a guard give such a half hearted look that you know full well you could have easily had a nuclear bomb in the bottom and they wouldn't see it.

We have been here for 6 days and have been entertaining ourselves by "eating" bubbles.
You should see the looks we are getting.
And I don't really think the wait for bag check has been bad.
Maybe I have more patience?
Bag checks aren't always that big a deal, but for whatever reason they will sometimes become a nightmare... last trip we had no real trouble until we went to EPCOT one day and for whatever reason they had only 2 people looking at bags which caused a very long line as one of them was on a Barney Fife trip looking at everything.

Picture of the US's smallest nuclear weapon, just in case someone tries it...

I'm firmly in the crowd that you can be courteous to others, even at Disney World.

Bubbles don't bother me that much, unless they pop on my glasses. Doesn't mean I think it is ok to blow them in crowds where others can't escape them if they want to. Just like I wouldn't use one of those spray fans Disney sells in a crowd where others can't get away.

If you can't offer others even a small courtesy, maybe you should be the one to stay home.

If those are all your complaints then WDW is doing pretty well. These parks are designed for children, children dig the bubble wands, and thus there will be bubbles. And like @1LE McQueen said (nice username, btw), I'll take the minor inconvenience of waiting in a bag line for an extra sense of security.

In what way does the bag check make you feel secure? If anyone was going to do anything they have a nice big crowd of people just hanging out right at the bag check.

Ewwww-I never thought of it before (odd because I'm slightly germophobic) but it is gross checking all the bags with the same gloves. The casino near my house does bag check with a wand/stick type thing...though that probably isn't much better. I agree the x-ray type thing seems like a better/quicker idea. Maybe Disney thinks it's too expensive to implement such a system?

Lol
This is hysterical.

Ok folks as a public service announcement here is how you escape the very dangerous soap bubble. Step 1, inhale
Step 2 purse you lips like you're about to whistle.
Step 3 exhale and blow.

Alternatively wave your hand back and forth in front of the offended areas. Eg. Your face or basket of chicken nuggets.

So many times I read a thread and think “Does anyone go anywhere besides Disney World, when they leave their house?!”

Bubble wands are not a Disney thing.. they’re a kid thing.. prevalent at most family entertainment venues.. it takes an extreme grouch to be bothered by bubbles, anywhere.. but especially at WDW.

We have them all over the Jersey shore. Im really trying to understand the offensiveness. They pretty much dissipate immediately, at most one will get on your tongue and somehow this site has made them a mandate on parenting.
I'm out, even for a NYer this borders on absurd.

What they really need is

Ha! That would be funny.

The ‘anti-bubble’ stuff really is absurd though, proof that people purposely look for things to complain about. :hilarious:

I would need to wear some safety goggles :joyfull:

But I did have one of those bubble makers as a kid and I loved it. But my family made me play with it away from the patio where they were sitting LOL.

I honestly have not seen them anywhere but at Disney World.

I think it takes an extremely lazy, self obsessed person to not care at all about how what they are doing impacts others. Especially in a place where the other people are not able to easily move away from you. Apparently it is sooo hard to be considerate of those around you.

And yet, you were not permanently scarred from having to play with them away from your family, were you?
