Just a dumb question...

Has anyone ever actually seen the Character Caravan at All-Star Movies? I stayed there last July and I will be there in June, and every morning around 7:00/8:00, I went for a run, but before, I checked to see if the CC was at the resort. I was there two weeks and never saw one Character, just the bus in the parking lot, just sitting there. I don't really care if I see them or not, it would just be nice to see them, since we have the opportunity to.

I haven't seen the characters at All Star Movies, but I have seen them at All Star Sports. We we were there in Sept. 2002 and they came Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each time they had about four characters. We saw Chip and Dale, the Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit, Gapetto, and some others. I can't remember the rest. :p

I believe they discontinued the character caravans after they bought back early entry to the parks. We were at All Star Sports 2 weeks ago and there was no mention of it at all.

It was my understanding that the Character Caravan was being discontinued when they started the Extra Magic Hour. I believe it ended 9/30/02.

As of October 1st the Character Caravan has been discontinued. Extra Magic Hour has replaced it. There are supposed to be characters in the parks at that time to make everyone happy.

We like it, but if you asked the average guest at a WDW resort, they liked CC more. They liked the fact that the characters were there to send them off to the parks in the morning. It got much better guest response than EE does.

Perhaps, but I say leave the characters at the parks, and only keep specific characters at the resorts that are not just there in the morning. Like Peter Pan and such at the Polynesian, Panchito, Mexican Donald, etc. at the Coronado Springs, etc. I think those opportunities where you don't expect the characters to be there, at a random time they appear at your hotel as you leisurely make your way, are the most magical. That's just me! Like I wouldn't prefer a set, carved in stone, time (CC) for me to see the characters. That leads to overkill, crowded lines, the whole nine yards, and a pre-fabricated sense of appreciation and fulfillment... Maybe I'm crazy! :D :)

I don't know, my daughter who was 8 when we caught the CC thought seeing Tweedledum and Tweedledee for the 8 billionth time, even though it was at the hotel, wasn't as much fun as riding Space Mt, Buzz Lightyear and Winnie the Pooh with no lines.

I stayed at the All Star Music Resort amd after breakfast, me and my family were walking out of the food court towards the doors where you go out to the bus stop and as we passed by the main lobby I saw Goofy and Timon(Lion King) walking around being silly. I saw the character caravan outside and I laughed

we stayed at the Poly last july and as we were goint to breakfast we saw 2 characters in the lobby...they were mobbed. the kids would rather go to the parks early and ride their favorite rides.
