Just a couple questions...

My father, brother and I are going to WDW the 20th to the 27th of September. We are staying at Pop Century. I have never stayed at Pop and was wondering if there is a certain building that is good to stay in. Not one of the "preferred rooms" but as far as a standard building are there any good preferences? Also my other concern is the weather in late september. I have been in late september back in 1997 and i remember it being very hot (i love the heat so that isnt a problem) but as far as rain, storms, etc. I think thats all for now Thanks Guys!

First of all we stayed in the 50s section which wasnt preferred and loved it. It was close to the main building and had its own pool the one with the jukebox. We liked it alot. We always go in Sept. as a matter of fact we r going Sept 30th this year staying at the Sports which we have all ready done also. The weather for us and we have gone the last 3 years in a row the same time has always been real hot upper 80s and 90s. We never pack jeans at all. Last year was the only year it rained but only a little.Unfortunately for MNSSHP but we still had a great trip.

can't help with the weather question, but we have always stayed at pop century (we'll be there again in 5 days!!:sohappy: ) and we stayed in the 50's decade. it was close to the main building and to the bus stops. i requested that area this time, so hopefully we will get it. hope that helps:wave:

My girlfriend & i did the exact same thing last year , POP Century from 9/20- 9/27, small world. We stayed in the 50's section with a view of a courtyard and the 50's parking lot, it was horrible. it is so much better to look out your window or leave the room and see the pool or at least the other side where the lake is.We both liked the hotel and it's theming, all was well. It was so hot and humid our first 4 days & no rain at all. the last couple of days were just as hot and humid & it rained a little 1/2 hour here, 1/2 hour there, not enough to ruin our fun though. we were in Animal Kingdom the first day it rained, so we kept going on Kali river rapids, we actually never got off along with the rest of the raft, we all just stayed on for about 4 or 5 trips, no lines. Pack poncho's you will probablt need them. the rain was done by around 3 ish and we spent the rest of our day/night at Epcot(after returning to the hotel to change out of our wet clothes. the second day it started raining about 2 hours after we got to Blizzard Beach, pefect timing, we were done there.
Expect rain, but hey who knows, maybe i was lucky!! have fun.

I have stayed in the 70s section just off to the side of hourglass lake. It was great b/c it was not a preferred room, but I still had a great view! That and it was close to the main building as well.

I have also stayed in the 90s building and it wasn't so bad either...as long as we cut across the parking lot.

thanks guys :) its me my father and brother (they live in nc) and because im the frequent wdw traveler, i am in charge of planning it so im trying to make it enjoyable for my brother and my father. so far we have made adr for chef mickeys, sci fi diner, crystal palace, and the spirit of aloha dinner show - do you think there is anymore i should take them to? my brother is 16 and my father is 46. and the day we go to the dinner show (which is a saturday, and it is the very middle of our vacation) im thinking go to downtown disney marketplace for a few hours early afternoon, then head to ft. wilderness to rent the boats they have there, and then the spirit of aloha dinner show is at 8, do you think thats a good idea? take a break from the parks 1 day and still have 6 full days left in the park?? i know im crazy with the questions but i just want to make it enjoyable for my father and brother too.... thanks!

Looks like you have a good start to your planning.
As far as restaurants, you have some good choices. There is so much more available, hard to make suggestions without knowing dining preferences.
The 50's Prime Time at MGM is an experience, many of the countries at Epcot, there are also some interesting ones at DTD.

You don't have to go out to Ft. Wilderness to rent boats. They have them at GF, Poly and Contemporary, so you don't have to stray far from the Poly area. If there is a breeze, do plan on getting a little wet.

As for weather, yes, you should plan on it still feeling very warm both day and evening (no cool cape evenings yet). This is a chance of weather problems as it is in hurricane season...but you can just never tell. Otherwise, it is a very nice time of year, not too crowded so you should have a great time.

One more thing... on Sept. 22 the MK has MNSSHP. That can be a real fun experience if you haven't been.
