Jungle Cruise Survey

The JC is the only ride at MK I don't mind skipping! I think it's so cheesy and If i want to go on an animal cruise I'd rather see it a DAK. I do like the "bus driver rumor" of a possible new attraction, so if they have to refurb JC it'll b ok, but I think we'd still skip it...

The cheese is definitely the reason that I love riding it, to me it never gets old.

I enjoy the cheesiness and by no means am i saying JC has to go. However, what I am saying is, if they come up with a better idea, go with that. JC isn't going to impress any newcomers to the park, its their for sentiment sake. The large footprint could provide room to add multiple new rides and attractons.

As for the Aladdin ride, yes, i say get rid of it. Put in a Genie themed scrambler ride. If they did get ride of JC, they could put another sub area in based on Agrabah itself, maybe with a couple alladin rides.

My point is, I feel Adventure land has been ignored for so long, and I would love for Imagineering to put some work into it.

Considering the attraction consistently ranks very, very high on satisfaction surveys, I'm going to have to disagree that it's not there to impress people.

There is plenty of room in Adventureland to expand without removing attractions.

That's not what I said. I am saying, its not gonna bring anyone new to the park. It ranks high on satisfaction because its a classic. Mr. Toad ranked high, and its gone.

The Plaza Swan Boats used to circle the Treehouse before returning to the hub so it's feasible to steer the JC boats around it. My question is "Why?"
Even if they expanded the JC around the Treehouse, would that be enough space to add any AA animals, headhunters etc.? Most of the moat is visible from the walkway so the general public could see any potential surprise elements that they could add there.
In order to make this practical, they would have to add a lot more waterway than this simple loop.

Funny that you say that. There are scrims up and over the atrium of where the swan boats used to be.. HMMMM?

This could be said for nearly every ride in the parks. Teacups are not going to bring new people to the park, but they are a large part of the overall experience.

Mr. Toad was lightly attended, and at the time was in a land with no expansion area to put Pooh.

Jungle Cruise gets strong attendance.

As for the "not gonna bring anyone new"....that can be said about basically every old ride, no?

Agreed on the points above, I never said get rid of JC, my main desire is for an overall update of Adventureland. Look I like JC, but like Tomorrowland Speedway, it takes up a lot of room, and if Imagineering comes up with a better idea for that space I am all for it.

THe last time I encountered this was coming off of Snow White's Scarey Adventure in like Jan 2009 I think. Sad to say I think they were using that feedback to determine if they should close it or not...

They are thinking about doing away with a live captain and just have a recording do the jokes.

No, they're not. There was a plan to do so years ago, the remnants of which can be seen on the "spiel" button on one of the boats. Thankfully they realized what a moronic mistake that would be and decided not to go forward with it.

Even if they got rid of the skipper, they'd have to shell out a lot of money to redo the ride system. It can't run without skippers.

its like i said about epcot in another thread, i think that the parks and most of the attractions and rides have peaked in respect to cutting edge amazement. its almost as if a renaissance is needed to make a new benchmark for the parks. things like space mountain, the jungle cruise, even test track were built in a time where they were the future and staple of theme park attractions. disney needs to recapture that, it s generational thing and it just so happens that this generation has succedded the delieverables of the current park attractions and rides. Disney has the ability to set a new bar, a benchmark of greatness, and should start with things like adventureland.

i agree 100% i rode harry potters shindig last week and after i got out i thought....the bar just got blown to pieces....i did not know a non "true" coaster could do that....and it hit me.... Disney needs some new life....not just refurbs and extensions....most MK rides are just outdated not in principle but in physical capability's ....and i don't even want to hear the screeches from the roof tops about how classic and nostalgic they are...or how you rode it as a kid.... seriously i would be hands down the first one demanding a new coaster in space mountain...or a whole new pirates ride....with a full range of modern tech...and the jungle cruise in particular...if you like it or not is aside...it was built to do what the entire AK park is doing now....that outlet has been filled....and by real animals i might add....it has no further purpose...or need in MK...and its so damn big the possibiltys would be endless...im really tired of hearing about how great these classic rides are...and i agree they were great and are still a blast....space mountains theming alone for example makes me go wow....but honestly embrace the new tools and techniques of today....and on a final note....im wearing my flame suit....=)
