Jungle Cruise Survey

Since they've gotten rid of every other out door boat ride in WDW I wouldn't be surprised if the JC went away, but I'd miss it most of all

JC is not going anywhere, and I don't just say that because I work there. While it is probably possible to have the boats moving around the Treehouse, it wouldn't be just to extend the cruise but what they really want is a way to have the ADA access boats be able to come off of the main part of the river to load and unload so we'd be able to continue the rest of the ride without interruption. That I think is something that would go a long way to increase capacity on this attraction. Other than going down for weather related instances, the biggest reason for delays and therefore longer que times is waiting to load those particular boats. This isn't to put some sort of blame on those people in turn making them feel bad, it is just a simple fact. The idea of a walkway to another attraction between Pirates and JC is something they could do...

Were a little bit closer now than in 2006...basically unless things change it sounds like it will be the next major refurb. At minimum I wouldn't expect it until next year. But honestly I haven't heard a time frame.

its like i said about epcot in another thread, i think that the parks and most of the attractions and rides have peaked in respect to cutting edge amazement. its almost as if a renaissance is needed to make a new benchmark for the parks. things like space mountain, the jungle cruise, even test track were built in a time where they were the future and staple of theme park attractions. disney needs to recapture that, it s generational thing and it just so happens that this generation has succedded the delieverables of the current park attractions and rides. Disney has the ability to set a new bar, a benchmark of greatness, and should start with things like adventureland.

I agree. While I don't want to see my classics fade away, so much at WDW needs something to renew its "Disney Difference". Not just attractions either.

I wonder if this has something to do with the JC movie? I've been surveyed around the world plenty of times, and asked similar questions, but don't recall ever being asked about a specific attraction. Only about my experiences in the park and resort hotel.
It would be really interesting if this pertained to the movie. I sure hope that they make it sooner rather than later.

I once did a survey at DAK and they asked if there were any attractions or shows that I had no interest in seeing. I told them I'd seen Pocahontas once and that was quite enough for me. A week later they announced the show was closing! Coincidence? I think not!
I will now take requests for the next time I'm surveyed!o_O

we love the jungle cruise! But I agree it needs a major refurbishment! Every animal is old, creaky, worn out. It could be awesome, but it is another ride Disney just seems content to let ride on its laurels.

Jungle Cruise must stay.
Because I said so.

why LEE why? the attractions original intent has been filled via a whole new park AK. and im sure someone like yourself cherishes it and im not bashing the ride i just feel the massive floor print it consumes could be better served...

What intent is that? To look at animals? True for AK, but that is not what JC is about.
Jungle Cruise is the very embodiment of everything Adventureland stands for.
Exotic, humorous and timeless. Transports you to far away places like no other attraction I can think of.
It MUST remain.

If something has to go, rip out the go-karts.

The sentiment in these three concise little lines was so poetic, I thought it was a haiku at first. But the syllables were a bit off, so I tinkered with it just a tad:

Jungle Cruise must stay.
O why? Because I said so.
Carry on, skippers...

We would ride it more, but we don't feel the wait is worth it! Must be popular enough to stay busy. Not a bad ride, but certainly showing its age. My fears are it would lose nostalgic feel if it ws re-done. Plenty more in the World needs attention...leave as is for a while.

Jungle Cruise should go to make room for giant FIRE MOUNTAIN e-ticket that reuses the Jungle Cruise audio animatronic figures and props in an all new exciting adventure

Can I get an "Amen!" brother?

That monstrosity is on prime real estate, and is akin to a local theme park's "antique cars". It sounds awful, looks awful - and makes no sense in either Tomorrowland or Fantasyland.

Even when I was a kid I didn't do it. I clearly remember skipping that and Dumbo, telling my parents that they looked just like the ones at our local amusement park and I wanted to go on rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates that were unlike anything I had ever seen. I know skipping Dumbo is sacrilege to some, but even as an 7 or 8 year old I was like, "Meh". While I'd never argue to take Dumbo away because of it's iconic stature, the generic "antique cars" ride is just a huge space that deserves a real ride.

(Rant over, LOL.)

I agree as much as I enjoyed riding the speedway on my first visit in '80 (I was 8), I think its time for it to go. WDW has gotten rid of so many classics like toads and 20,000 leagues which was one of my favs on that trip. On that trip there was only one park now there is 4 and while all of them are in need of major tune ups for attractions. Its time to let some go at mk Get rid of the jungle cruise and bring Indiana jones in. Not a copy of Dl version but a new adventure. Mk will never get rid of POTC or the haunted mansion, which probably are the two oldest rides in that park. I would imagine there is a core of rides like splash, the two coasters soon to be three, and HM and POTC. Those will always be here. The jungle cruise takes up a lot of ground for little return in my opinion. Lets also hope they dump Avatar and pick up a Star wars theme land in HS. Thats my 2 cents

The amount of guests we get on a daily basis ensures we are not going anywhere, whether some here "get" the love of the attraction or not. All it needs is some TLC from TDO.

Lee, I couldn't agree with you more. Jungle Cruise is literally a Disney Park Classic. Early Imagineering at its best. You can change out cheap dark rides on a weekly basis, and replace rides in lands and parks that are destined to date themselves (i.e. anything put into FUTURE World or TOMORROWland)....but you just flat out don't get rid of true Disney park classics.

If they want to extend it, by all means. If they want to add new scenes or improve (without the use of Video or NextGen interaction), please, bring it! But in no way, shape or form should something like JC go away.

I second Lee's motion to tear out the go-karts and put something on that huge piece of real estate.

They are thinking about doing away with a live captain and just have a recording do the jokes.
UH people? This was a joke. Obviously they can't make a recording of those corny jokes with some captains giving their own little spin or flavor on it and have it go over. The ride would definately die.

Exactly! Even Living With the Land is significantly less interesting now without the live tour guides and it was nowhere near as reliant on live CMs to guide your journey as the Jungle Cruise is. The JC skippers are essential.
