did you know that disney is coming out with a movie based on the jungle cruise ride? hopefully it is in the mold of Pirates of The Carribean or Haunted Manision, not Country Bears.
what could the plot be or who will be in it?

don't know if this true but supposedly, the plot is an american doctor goes to africa to find a cure for a disease. they go up a river on a boat.
let me guess the driver of boat thinks he is funny...

sounds like a drama but how could a JC movie not be a comedy?

To my knowledge "Jungle Cruise" is based on the movie "African Queen"

So then we have a movie, based on a ride, wich is based on a movie...

Oh well... these a decadent times... what the heck... :D :D :D

That's what I heard too. I love that movie. Maybe Disney is just going to remake it but call it Jungle Cruise or something. Who knows.
And as bad as people thing the movie version of The Haunted Mansion was, at least it kept close to the original ride. I didn't care for Eddie Murphy's performance but the special effects and just seeing recognizable things made it good to me.

The Jungle Cruise is actually based on Walt Disney's True Life Adventure series. This movie rumor is just that - a rumor - and has been for some time. The only way this would probably happen is if WDW JC gets back the real cap-firing guns (not the sound effect ones) and the old-style boats.

The last reliable news on this was last December. Mandeville Films is slated to do this but after they remake Swiss Family (eh). So the best that coud probably be said for this is "development hell" at this time. I doubt very little of the storeyline is set yet.

I hope not, i dont want more movies based off of attractions, they dont turn out well at all. look at country bears and haunted mansion. those movies were so bad the only reason i stayed was so i would get my moneys worth of popcorn.

Actually, Corrus is right, too. Here's a quote from "Since the World Began": "[Harper] Goff was fond of the 1952 Humphrey Bogart/Katharine Hepburn film The African Queen and that that the waterway adventures and animals depicted in the film could be readily adapted for a ride-through attraction."
And why would a movie happen just because The Jungle Cruise has different guns and boats? They killed The Country Bear show at Disneyland just months before the movie came out. Talk about your brainiac moves. They might have been able to renew an interest in the attraction (if the movie had been good, anyway), but instead they went about as far in the opposite direction as they could...completely taking away any opportunity for any current or future generation of Disneyland goer to experience it.

Ah!!! Thanks...
And another one to add to my resume... :D

it's funny.. we have movie based on rides and rides based on movies.. its an endless cycle.
Yup, it's called Marketing! At home when you watch ABC there are tons of commercials for WDW and Disneyland. Some of the Disney DVDs contain these too. But when you are in the parks its all about the Disney movies. An endless cycle of marketing. But hey, they make money that way!

I think of that as being rather merciful of Disneyland. We can only hope that WDW does the same.

Its more than just a rumor.... from hsx.com:

Genre: Adventure Phase: Development

Disney is fast tracking plans for a feature film based on the Disneyland theme park ride Jungle Cruise. The film highlights the experiences of a family and is described as an 'adventure with comedic elements'. Josh Goldstein and John Norville pen the script.
