I never realized just how much better the AAA discount is for deluxe resorts in July. Even the CM at reservations was surprised. So, what would you pick - going in June and avoiding masses of tour groups and possibly getting better weather OR going in July and staying in a monorail resort? The difference for us (based on length of stay, room choice, etc...) is about $1000. The choice is easy for me. I've been in June and July. I know the pros and cons and prefer June. However, money talks as does the possibility of a monorail resort stay.

Personally June all the way. For me it would not be about the money it would be about the crowds and weather. I can sorta deal with the heat but not when its overly crowded. That is why I usually go in Sept.

As much as I love staying at a monorail resort, I would choose the slightly lighter crowds and a tad bit better temps that June has. If you don't stay at a monorail resort, which resort will you stay at? I noticed in your signature you've stayed at the WL. Honestly, for us there is not a huge difference between staying there and at the Poly. In fact, after staying at the Poly three times in a row, we are going to stay at the WL for our next trip...not to save money, but just because we want to. Don't get me wrong...being on the monorail is great, and being able to see the MK from your resort is amazing....but for us, it is not a top priority anymore.

After our July 2007 trip we vowed never again. The heat was bad, which you can get used to, the tour groups were awful. To be fair, we also went to Universal and the tour groups there were also awful.

100 people wearing the same shirt and backpack do not qualify for the single rider line.

At all theme parks, our wait was guaranteed twice as long as the sign said because the tour groups (this not being their fault) would completely disrupt the ability to manage wait times.

That Deluxe resort in July does you no good when you're sweating in line at Jungle Cruise for 120 minutes.

We just came back from a July trip and despite the heat, still had a blast. The lines were nowhere near as bad as I thought they were and if you're familiar with the park you definitely have an advantage over a lot of the guests. The tour groups were definitely my least favorite part about going there in July. It's definitely not the ideal time to go, but I have always wanted to stay at one of the Monorail resorts, especially the Polynesian. I could definitely suck it up one more time in July for that opportunity. Although, with my wife being a teacher, we really don't have many options other than Christmas, Spring Break, or July/August.

I would always go for the biggest bang for the buck. July would be great and to stay at one of the Resorts on the Mono line at a huge discount is even better. I think you answered your own question on this one.

We ALWAYS go in July and we love it! All of the Magic Kingdom resorts are so wonderful. Do not give that up, go in July!

Tough decision….but I would pick June. Nothing worse than suffering in the parks in the heat AND large crowds…..

However, I was pleasantly surprised this year when we went on a last minute vacation 7/4 – 7/11….the weather was FANTASTIC and the crowds were lighter than I expected. If the economy doesn’t improve, this decision may be strictly weather based….although June wouldn't be my choice if the factor was weather.....I would select late September through early Novmeber.....

I chose other. The only reason why is I cannot stand the crowds. I know it is crowded almost all the time now. However, I can manage crowds in the slower times much better.

Not of much help. I chose other, I don't like the heat and humidity too much up here in PA, let alone the heat and humidity in FL in June-August. I like Sept, Nov and Dec. I can't say how I like Oct yet since we haven't gone in Oct yet (will in about a month though). December is awesome cause of the Christmas decorations and much cooler weather.

We need time for things to happen.
As much as I LOVE..

WDW and love the monorail resorts...there is nothing worth dealing with July crowds. NOTHING.

I did it once for a weekend when I was staying at my parents in FL...
NEVER again...:brick:

I just can't see being hot, sweaty, and only being able to enjoy rides once if you're lucky...

I guess this means there is a limit to my love for the happies place on earth..:animwink:
