My friends and I are planning a trip next summer and we can't decided whens a better time to go. We want to go either end of june or mid august. What do you think would be better?

Counterpoint: August (believe it or not) is actually hotter then June. (Making is approximately the temperature of the surface of the sun.) It's also closer to the peak of hurricane season in September. So the odds are better your vacation will be affected by a hurricane or tropical storm weather in August. FL Resident seasonal AP's open their black-out days in August and many people are trying to get in their last hurrah before school starts by going the first week(s) of August. Personally, I'd go more the beginning of June instead. (If those were my two options. I rather not go in the summer at all because of the heat, but of the two, I'd go early June.)

Food Plan

I don't know if it means anything but mid-August has the food plan attached to it for the last two years. Maybe you should think that way and save yourself some money.

My thinking exactly! It is MUCH hotter in August than June. It is miserable in August, but just uncomfortable in June. And like MissM said, the chances of your vacation being affected by a hurricane are MUCH less in June. I'd definitely go in June.

We've gone mid august the last three times we've been. Everytime has been spectacular. Last august, we went from the 14th-24th and the crowds were excellent. At one point we were the only ones in the fastpass line for Soarin' and the standby line was the same on the other side of that barrier thing... just saying, it was definitely a wasted fastpass. Not to mention, lately i've been reading here about 120 minute waits for things.

But yes, it is super hot... but i would say definitely worth it. We're from Canada, and last trip, a cast member from the beach club was telling us his parents came down to florida to escape the heat we were having in canada, which may seem hard to believe, but that's what i was told!

Anyways, yes, it's all about august. Hope that helps a bit!!
Oh, and we're already booked from august 12-22 of 2007, so if you choose it, and it's bad, i will definitely believe you.

Have fun booking!

June or August

We've been twice - both in August. We're from the UK so we found the heat a novelty! You can always escape from the heat by going into any indoor air-conditioned area. We found the normal pattern was beautiful cloudless blue skies until about 4.00pm. Then it would cloud over and there would be some rain and maybe a thunderstorm, followed by clear skies and pleasant weather from about 7.00pm onwards.
We've booked up to go again this year - in August! Hope you have a great time whenever you go - I doubt whether there's ever a bad time to go.

Sure, it's hotter in August, but the smaller crowds means you can do more in less time and then go lounge poolside or somewhere nice and cool indoors.

Definately August! We spent 2 weeks in WDW in July of '04 and two weeks in August of '05 and we didn't feel a big difference in the heat! Also, the crowds are less after August 20th and the food plan is included. Regardless when you go, its still hot, there are still crowds............so, why not get free food while you are there?!?!? :slurp:
