I’m not disagreeing with you

but what I keep telling everyone is that crowd management is not optional anymore. Not at 2019 attendance levels.

there where 15,000,000 more gate clicks in 19 than the last year before fastpass (1998)...it’s required now...not a “luxury”

Something has to give before “full capacity”. Even though I loved it 2 weeks ago. Attendance was still very “light” by modern standards.
We're in a very weird place right now where predicting demand is a bit of a fool's errand. At one edge of the spectrum, we have stimulus-fueled-hyper-pent-up-demand that is set to absolutely explode the second that the airlines drop their mask requirements. On the other edge, we have people who are going to be travel-hesitant likely for years. Disney absolutely needs ways to manage the initial surge, but I suspect the new baseline demand for the next several years will be somewhere below the 2019 peak all on its own.

I couldn’t agree more...very weird situation

add to that: the coming “economic boom” - which economists always predict - may or may not happen...or it could be “great” for some and recession “awful” for many.

these things would affect mass travel... and guess who sells that?

Disney is relaxing the COVID measures for self-serve beverages and refillable mugs. I have a feeling that other measures that aren't providing any real protection will be ending soon.

because they’ve had staff standing all day filling paper cups.

it doesn’t work.

I wouldn’t read too much into that

I take it as an indication that WDW will start discontinuing mitigation measures that don't make sense and don't provide any real protection from COVID. Nothing more.
I think you’re right...

I’m just commenting on the fountains specifically since I just saw it. It doesn’t work. And it’s a waste of labor and slaphead won’t tolerate that...or his underlings

to me july 4th is a great day to return fireworks, parades, showing our country is almost back to normal, predict at least 50%, if not more capacity,re-opening of resorts and food venues shuttered now.
In my opinion, July 4th is too soon for WDW to return to what it was prior to the pandemic.

I want to discuss what we previously called “normal”

The WDW parks so mobbed you can’t move. We all remember camping you an hour in advance for a spot for the parade or fireworks. We all know how MOBBED the Magic kingdom fireworks were and if you did’t get a spot early the only spots left were off to the side behind a tree.

I have mentioned in posts before, my last visit pre pandemic, November 2019, EPCOT being SO MOBBED we literally couldn’t not get near a food booth to purchase our $7 sample.

I do not know what the future will bring, but I am not so sure we want “that normal” back.

The "You will need a booster in 3 months, 6 months, a year, etc" is nothing but fear-mongering. We don't know exactly how long immunity lasts because the vaccines have only been in people's arms for so long. We know for absolute certain that it lasts at least x amount of time, but it is likely far far longer than that.

The reason you will need to get a 3rd vaccine in the near future (2022) would be to account for variants.

As for being deathly ill, I can't speak on her account, but out of everyone I know that has gotten the vaccine, I've had the worst side effects (bed-ridden for a day with a 103 fever), but I would gladly do it again. Felt a bit worse than when you have a bad flu, but the reality is, you get to choose when you want to feel ill for a bit, and it's only for a day or so.

The last time I had the flu, I missed a whole week of class at a very bad time. When you get a vaccine, you can schedule it however you like and you get to choose when you will potentially feel ill.

Even then, it's only a small minority of people that actually feel ill to the point of inactivity.
I don't think it was "fear mongering" in her case. She was told this after she had her second shot. I wish someone would say you will probably need a booster in a year, but it seems people are hearing different things in this regard.

Which is hilarious because, anecdotally, the cast members I talked to all hate the masks as much as guests do.

No one like masks...no one on earth. It’s not “a thing”

Current day unions only like to claim they like to care about the workers needs!

The current CDC remember was the one preaching doom just a few weeks ago. Of which we are going down in cases from. They’re far more political than you may think. Also it’s worth looking into this study published at the NIH.
My point in posting this article is I feel we are now choosing the science that most aligns with our political views instead of the overall collective of science.

we currently find ourselves at a point where fear of a new virus is driving us to a totalitarian view on how life needs to be balanced. There has to be balance. Life is inherently unsafe. We have to accept that.
just a heads up that article seems to be making the rounds as the holy grail against face mask. number one, it's an abstract not a scientific study if you read the disclaimer you will pretty much find a lot of the issue. one is that his abstract is based on a study of 39 people.

It's about the 12th time some one who advocates not wearing masks sent it out. I agree though following the science.

This kinda proves my point. You can find an article to justify almost anything now. NC just announced a brilliant plan. When we get to 65% fully vaccinated we can drop the mask mandate. This incentives people. We are currently at 46% partially vaccinated and 35% fully vaccinated

that’s actually a great idea...even if the number is too low.

the stupids are making this a “thing”...wounded pride after they got bumrushed...

make it 80%...and national 👍🏻

The nationwide promotion of Winston Salem , NC based Krispy Kreme free donut everyday in 2021 for the vaccinated at any KK location can't entice more to get the vaccine?
