That was the point I made earlier, though -- that's not something that typically happens for media projects.

Obviously it does happen sometimes, but generally movies that are in the works but never get off the ground just go away. The number of projects that were reported as in the works and then never happened without any kind of reporting around it dwarfs the number that were actually reported as cancelled.

I think that's partially because of the way the movie industry works; sometimes a movie falls off the radar for a decade+ and then somebody digs it up and makes it.

If I was betting, I'd put money on the BTMRR movie (at least as originally reported with those directors) never happening, but you never know.

I know they just announced they were scaling back on feature productions for D+ (well, at least animated) but a Big Thunder themed serial on D+ could be cool. With shows like Yellowstone doing well could be something that would work (obviously something on D+ would have very different tone than that).

But something set in that timeframe with a mystery to solve, etc could be fun

They aren’t making nearly enough content to make that steam attractive longterm

Good thing they have Hulu…it’s keeping their ship afloat

Thank you for explaining your reasoning.

That was something that was in the works around 2013 I believe.

My expectations were also along the lines of D23 Brazil. One thing flushed out. So they actually touched on quite a bit more than that.

It seems another good affirmation everything is largely still on the docket. The second ride at Cars and Coco at DCA being unmentioned. Which I will neither read too much or too little into. Lion King at WDSP and Tropical Americas also unmentioned.

Dirt is being moved around where Lion King is going, so I would still expect that to happen.

But it's Simba's Bayou Adventure. Nothing out of the ordinary tech wise to note in this setting. Same with Coco.
I’m actually rather interested to see what that turns out like. I wonder which scene will be on the main lift hill.

I should clarify that I mentioned those latter two as things there's reasonable consensus are happening, so as to say a lack of Coco/2nd Cars attraction doesn't mean much.

As you mention, I think none of them are likely tech groundbreaking.

Except Hulu is part of their long term strategy to make it "attractive", ie its all part of the same DTC division and strategy. If you haven't noticed things that some of us have been talking about since the day it launched have come to pass. D+ parental controls, Hulu being merged into D+, shared content, etc.

The long term strategy is to make a single streamer for all audience quadrants, and they are on-track to do just that.

I know you're down on streaming, but at least see this isn't some fly-by-the-night venture. There is a long term strategy behind it, even if you don't agree with it.

I hear that Play Pavilion at EPCOT is coming along, just hitting a delay. I know Disney hasn't said anything about it in the last six years and the construction permits expired but I'm sure they're working on it.
The western river adventure has hit a few slight hitches, but once they get everything filed with the state it should be fine!
Edit:
Honest question, out of 100, what percent chance is there that if WRE was built, It’d be rethemed to woody by now?

When projects are killed... we don't get updates.

When projects are still being worked on and will become a reality... we don't get updates.

So, if we don't get updates, that means...

…If you haven’t noticed…your just preaching

What I said is not in conflict with your incessant preaching about the steaming approach
Hulu works as it stands…the other two are very problematic
