Last year, we went to MNSSHP, and all he had on was his bandana, a bit of eye make-up and a white shirt and kids were going "OMG captain jack!!" - he used to have lovely thick long hair (that I had back-combed and ruffled up a bit! - he's had it cut now!) and has the gorgeous aqualine nose like Johnny Depp! He's got blue eyes though!

Well, I heard the same "rumor" when I was working at MK. I was told that he did, in fact, do an appearance in the Pirate Training show when they were first playing with the idea of having it. Only a few people knew it was him, for obvious reasons. He had requested if he could do it because he thought it would be fun. That's the only time he's done it. There is a picture of him (or at least there was in 2008) in the Cast Medical center at Epcot behind the reception desk and I was told it was taken from that day. I can't personally confirm it, so that's the best I have.
On another note, I showed up at the MNSSHP one year in a Pirate costume (intentionally designed - I had it made at a production studio I freelanced for - NOT to look like Jack Sparrow - just generic pirate) and lots of people thought I was a character because I've been told I look like Johnny Depp when I wear it (and sometimes when I don't). Lots of kids kept coming up to me and people wanted to take pics. I had to keep telling them I was just a guest though (I already knew how Disney feels about guests "trying" to act like characters).
