The premiere of the movie is June 24th in Cali, so the opening of hte ride is an entirely different schedule, day, whatever you want to call it. Probably no one will be at either re-opening.
Here's the attraction opening timeline that has recently been leaked for Disneyland:
June 18th -23rd - Construction of 1,500 seat stadium amphitheater begins in New Orleans Square. A large drive-in movie type screen is built on the end of Tom Sawyer's Island. Fantasmic! will not be performed this week due to construction on and around Tom Sawyer's Island and the elimination of the viewing area due to stadium construction. Tom Sawyer's Island closed to guests all week. By June 22nd the Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett Canoes also stop operating for guests due to construction and party preparation. Pirates attraction will not have any soft openings this week; zero, zilch, nada.
Saturday, June 24th - Pirates Premiere Party, Disneyland opens at 6:30am and closes at 5:00pm to regular guests after celebs walk red carpet down Main Street, through Frontierland, and on to stadium set up in New Orleans Square. (DCA is open until 11:00pm that day) Pre-party show on the river with Sailing Ship Columbia, a bunch of pirates, speeches by executives, etc. Movie is premiered on Tom Sawyer's Island screen. Post-party in and around New Orleans Square (booze, food, entertainment, bands, rides, etc.) with celebs and party guests allowed to be the first to go on the new ride. Blue Bayou restaurant is used for media interviews and executive reception. Fireworks planned for 11:30pm as party concludes. Tear down of stadium, screen and all party accesories begins shortly after Midnight.
Sunday, June 25th - Tear down of stadium and screen continues through the day and night on Sunday. The Pirates attraction is rumored to have a soft opening on this day, but it all depends on how quickly the removal of the stadium and equipment is going. The entrance to Pirates is right in the middle of the stadium mess, so it will be very tricky if they do manage to soft open the ride this day, but it's a possibility. Blue Bayou restaurant remains closed.
Monday, June 26th - The
BIG Day for all non-celebs! Stadium and last remnants of Premiere party have all been removed and New Orleans Square is finally back to normal. Pirates opens with Disneyland that morning at 8:00am and is officially open to guests. Mark Twain, Columbia, Canoes, Tom Sawyer's Island all open to guests as well. Fantasmic! resumes nightly performances on the Rivers of America. Blue Bayou restaurant opens to guests. Newly rebuilt waiter-service Cafe' Orleans restaurant opens to guests for first time. The new Pieces of Eight store opens near Pirates exit. New Pirates stage show performs for first time on new stage built near French Market restaurant. Pirates roaming atmosphere talent debuts in New Orleans Square. Pirates entertainment show begins "hi-jacking" the Sailing Ship Columbia and taking over the voyage as it makes each trip around the River. The Summer of '06 season at Disneyland officially begins with continual 8:00am to Midnight operation through Labor Day, and
Pirates, Pirates, Pirates is the theme of the summer for all commercials, ads, merchandise, etc.
