What does that make Tiana?
She's part of the Disney Princess brand. How does one become part of the brand? Marketability. How does Disney justify Mulan in the group? Heroic virtue (presuming all princesses demonstrate heroic virtue).
The big eyes are to portray the princesses in the art style of Wreck-It Ralph (not that Rapunzel didn't already have that same wide eyed style).
