Joe Rohde confirms Yeti being fixed!

Yes, I wouldnt discount it either. I actually dont think they would make a big deal about it because its an already embarrassing situation. Plus, the average person doesnt even know its broken or even realizes that there is supposed to be a Yeti at the end of the ride anyway. So why would they bring more attention to this with some big announcement and make more people realize that there is something wrong?? I actaully think a small post on FB is probably up Disneys alley for a situation like this.

There's no doubt in my mind that this is fake.

First, it's a fan page, not a personal page. Note the URL is /JoeRohde80. If it were legit, Disney's peeps would call Facebook's peeps and say "We need /JoeRohde" and it would just happen. I'm surprised the URL isn't JoeRohde17 :lookaround:

Secondly, Disney wouldn't sanction this type of press. This is negative press. Disney would deny the Yeti ever existed before admitting publicly that it failed. No way would they bring attention to the fact that they had a broken AA for years before they "sort of" fixed it.

And why would Joe ask for people to post photos of it while it's gone? That's the kind of stuff a 17-year-old fanboi would write on a fake Joe Rohde site.

B) Wouldn't he have much better access to take any pictures himself?

This has got to be the biggest give away.

Whenever Disney does fix the yeti, they'll never preemptively state that they're going to fix it. They would either say it was in response some silly guest survey, call it an "enhancement", or only confirm it after being asked by one of the fans.

Right. When (or if) it's fixed, there will be no mention of it whatsoever. If asked, Disney will have no comment or simply say they were making ride enhancements or providing scheduled maintenance.

There will be no "it's fixed!!!" party or press event. The ride will close for a "scheduled refurb" and re-open with some other version of the Yeti.

One more thing I thought of....Joe is probably more embarrassed than anyone about this "issue". This park is his baby. He was the one on all the Travel Channel shows promoting the ride and doing the interviews with the Yeti-in-progress behind a big sheet of plastic, really talking it up.

The fact that the crown jewel of his keystone attraction is broken is probably a giant thorn in his side...and even if he DID have a Facebook page, he would likely never discuss the Yeti. I know I wouldn't want to.

I feel the same way. I think it needs fixing but at the end of the day, it's a roller coaster...and I really like roller coasters, whether they have a giant AA included in them or not. I know the yeti was the biggest draw for some people but honestly, I was most drawn to the roller coaster in and of itself and that part of the ride works just fine. You see the yeti for all of a second so I don't know, it wasn't that big of a deal to me that we don't get to see him with movement. Though obviously I recognize others don't feel the same way. I just don't get how people are unwilling to go on it just because the yeti is broken when the ride does have other things to offer. *shrug*
