Job Offer - Now What!?!?

So I had been dealing with casting last week about setting up another phone interview. Well, when it came time for the interview it really wasn't an interview at all, but a job offer instead. Its a level 3 tech position making a little less than what I do now in Michigan.

So I am trying to figure out my options. I am also trying to find a decent place to live for a decent rent cost.... to get me going.

Any one with any input would be greatly appreciated!

If you have no family or pets, you may want to consider renting a room, or a "carriage apartment" (room over a garage). These are fairly common in downtown Orlando, which is one of the nicer places to live. Both provide more privacy, peace and quiet than an apartment.

If you head up to Winter Garden or out towards Polk County, Davenport or Kissimmee you will find plenty of trailers (mobiles) to rent... these have more maintenance responsibilities, though the cost would be paid by a good landlord as long as you have a good lease.

Bad news: housing prices in Orlando went up about 50% over the past few years. In the recent housing boom, there was a huge amount of "flipping" and condo buying at premium prices. Check craigslist.org to see what the rental market has to offer.

I don't really have any information for you, just wanted to say congrats! I'm also from Michigan, and I want to do the college program next year and hopefully get a job there once I graduate!

Keep us informed!! I'm interesting about your experience live/working/anything... I'm thinking about applying for a job and moving down there.. although I not getting my hopes up :rolleyes:

Things are going really well! I had a friend that I had met down here when I was going to school down here in '01. They had a room open for rent in their house so I lucked out in that case. I am one of the techs on the Mulch Sweat and Shears show in MGM. Its a pretty cool rock gig. I hadn't ever heard of it before, but its a blast.

Hey Matt Congratulations on working with the guys!!! They are an amazingly talented bunch of guys!!! I am a huge fan of the band and hope to see you as "Sparky" when I am down again!!! Belle
