Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

You know what's funny?
I watched bothe this and the new World of Color and wow what a huge difference for a similar concept.

There's no emotional take away with this one while world of color season of light gave me chills.

did you think this show was supposed to compare to any version of world of color?

That's crazy talk.

What did you expect from the company that gave you Cardboard Olaf on a paint stirrer... The days of well produced entertainment are dead at WDW.
Considering that TDA didn't bother to put a theme song in WOC: SOL and CANNED the iconic Toy Solders from ACF(this bothers me more than WOC: SOL), TDO is looking pretty good:
Bell, BAM! (If you don't mind the little high pyro)
Most Merriest
MRFF
OUAT
ROL: looks really close this week, nothing official yet.

I think the lack of a theme song for Season of LIght's a good thing given Disney's track record with seasonal shows getting saddled with crappy, buzzword-laden music. The last thing we needed was a Christmas equivalent to whatever that NPH song for the 60th Anniversary show was.

Its crazy talk to compare DL's vs WDW's Christmas shows? Why?

TWDC and TDO have known that HS would be taking several hits with all the attractions that are currently down, they have had ample time to come up with something. But they took the path of least resistance.

You mean Celebrate The Magic? The song that was just in MK for 4 years?

Granted I was really sold on WOC: Winter Dreams 2013 since the theme came from TDS' Christmas Wishes. Most of us know that OLC does beautiful music!

WoC is always going to be greater than a building projection show...even if this DHS show knocked it out of the park for everyone, it would still not come close to any version of WoC...that is all I am going to say....

As most of us here expected them to unfortunately.

This is not a bad show, good finale, great use of the tree lights and snow, the projections are crystal clear, lasers excellent as usual...but there's not enough pyro and too much nightmare, it felt more like a Halloween show then Christmas at times, some weird sound design too. These things can be fixed next year but we'll see if they do.

I think people just had the wrong expectations.
That's what confuses me. I said earlier in the thread that I didn't read the description as a (mainly) fireworks show. I thought it sounded like a projection show...which is why I booked the dessert party to have a good view.

Oh well. I'm just happy to see The Nightmare Before Christmas and Prep and Landing in a show. My only criticism is that I hope they tweak the desserts before we go.

I just have to say, I have honestly never realized that fireworks were so important to so many people.

Just an observation. I'm still over here confused as why the show is being received so poorly.
Perhaps people are just getting jaded to projections. Is watching movie clips projected onto a building entertaining? Fireworks remain thrilling for most people because they are not common place, particularly when done as well as the Disney shows. Projections are now very common place, and are even being done by homeowners.

My big issue with it is the music. It's bland and boring with almost no redeeming qualities other than the choir singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
