They also added a figure in the first scene...needs to be seen to be believed.. Surely they're not finished??

The staging looks awkward. They should have waited till they closed Toontown.. this is just confusing to me.

Who is she telling to “Talk to the hand”? The weasel has his back to her. Is she telling the riders? Whatever she is supposed to be doing she just looks like she is being completely ignored.

It's not offensive.
I’m not female but I could at least see how a viewer of any background could genuinely argue that this scene is equally if not more so offensive depending on the eye of the viewer.

The implied suggestion with this trench coat change is that Jessica Rabbit was dressed “indecently” and needed to be covered up. This is more in line with more old school second wave feminist perspective which in some ways shares more similarities with orthodox religious principals of today. I.e. the role of the “male gaze”, questioning gender roles/work, etc.

But this is 2021 now and it’s 3rd/4th wave feminism now. With an emphasis on broader sexual liberation and freedom of choice. Of course it’s been a long time since I took a gender studies course but the takeaway is this is at best a neutral.

Jessica Rabbit isn't a real person. She is a character and Disney gets to decide how she is portrayed.

If a real woman decided she wanted to cover up, would you be offended by that? Probably not.

Some of the comments in here are so hyperbolic.

The figure still has a defined waist, and is a busty as ever. If people are worried about her sex-appeal. I’d say it’s still present, in a toontown attraction no less.

This change is so minor, it barely warrants a thread.

Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees.

As long as we continue to accept these "minor" changes before long you lose Splash Mountain, the redhead, Trader Sam...

I certainly would hate for those things to happen.
