Of course not. You have every right to express yourself. What I’m insinuating is that if the choices being made won’t have much influence on your visits, then try not to get too upset (not saying you’re super angry about this). It’s very obvious more decisions like these (not entirely sure if she’s been permanently removed) will occur in the future, so you may as well try to get used to them.

It’s not bad advice and I try to remind myself of that from time to time yet when it comes from others in these types of conversations it comes off a bit condescending. Not saying you are doing that right now but it can come off that way. I suppose most of us here could use that advice. For example you complain about Disney on these forums often yet are are also here everyday spending time talking about them.

I feel that I can be a human being, continue enjoying what I enjoy about the parks and still talk and react to disappointing news in real time.

I’m not trying to be condescending (if I came off that way, I apologize) nor do I believe I’m a hypocrite for complaining about Disneyland because I’m not spending my money on tickets. I have no plans on returning any time soon.

Again, I’m not saying you can’t express your feelings. I love talking , it’s honestly one of my favorite things to do here. All I’m saying is if you’re going to continue going to the parks, don’t do what I used to do and get extremely upset over the current and future decisions. It’s a waste of energy, especially since you have no plans to stop going. I know the “Committee” bothers you, but don’t let it bother you too much. Expect more of it, because it’s coming.

I haven't watched the movie in years, is this scene included and if so, I assume Disney will cut it now? I mean, if it can't be in the attraction it shouldn't be on film, right? 🤦‍♂️

It’s all good. No offense taken. Just thought I could also give my honest opinion.

One thing though - when you say you are not being a hypocrite does that imply that I am being one because I continue to go to the parks?

I’m spending money and time still talking about Disney and you re just spending time. It’s all the same. In fact, I’m pushing 40, time may be even more valuable for me.

Yeah, I’d argue there’s a bit of hypocrisy there, depending on the level of shame. I’ve seen many comments from posters where they’ll shame Disney for something related to the parks (doing business with China, being “woke,” etc.) and then will turn around and purchase Magic Keys/park tickets, which is supporting Disney, despite shaming them for bad practices a few days ago.

I’d also argue that there’s a difference between shaming the parks and still going versus shaming them and not going (what I’m doing). You’re correct, I’m spending time, but not there. Others are spending both time and money and still shaming. But alas, this is off topic. Agree to disagree.😉

I guess I don’t understand how you say there is hypocrisy In what I’m doing but not in what you re doing. So it’s only hypocrisy if money is involved? Anyway yeah let’s agree to disagree.

Also the example you gave is most definitely hypocrisy. Complaining about the direction of the parks but still going is something completely different. So if you voted for Joe Biden and disagree with some of his policies or decisions yet still support him as he’s still president does that makes you a hypocrite?

The Disneyland that exists, the Disneyland that brought us to these forums has nothing to do with the people in charge Right now.

There’s a clear difference, but as I said, it doesn’t belong in this thread.

Anyways, back on topic, we don’t know if Jessica is permanently gone.

She is represented in the beginning (driving the car I believe). Also her voice is heard in the dressing room/queue area.

I’m guessing this removal may be due to the illusory hints at kidnapping? I don’t think on the surface this is a “5-alarm fire” outrage that this is removed.

But what is odd to me is that at a time when TDA/WDC can’t afford to hire basic staff for operations, that there’s time to dissect what even the most culturally aware (or “woke” as some would say) individuals would presumably agree are far from even being considered low hanging fruit.
If Disney had gotten the Nintendo deal, we could probably assume the Mario attraction would be scrapped.

I say scrapped and not rethemed because it would take them until at least 2028 to finish building it.

Sister shared this with me this morning. The inclusion/ PC/ whatever you want to call them committee strikes again. Man, Disneyland was just a terrible place until 2020. Thank God these people came along.

Pretty sure the figure’s just getting refurbished and it’s nothing more than that. I’d call it an overreaction otherwise. But if not and it’s more than that.. this is definitely stupid. Since that’s part of the entire story of the ride. Jessica’s been kidnapped/held hostage by the weasels who are “dipping” toon town and it’s up to Roger, Benny, and us guests to save her & stop them.

Is she even represented anywhere else on the ride?
I could care less if they remove her from this scene, but my hope would be they could add another figure of her somewhere.

Perhaps you missed that she was replaced with barrels? Or you think they re just a placeholder? In 2021 with all the other changes they have been making, the odds favor that she’s gone.

Maybe she's out for a refurb but I'm pretty sure her opening scene figure was super basic, yeah? Like all she did was sort of move her leg or tilt her head.. I can't imagine there'd be any need to fully remove it unless it was going away for good. Then again, I'm not an Attraction maintenance CM, so who knows.

If she's getting removed from the opening scene, I just hope that they adjust her second figure (removing ropes, maybe a change of dialogue/placement of her and the weasel) accordingly so that it makes sense. Seeing her tied up/kidnapped at the beginning of the attraction was setting up for the payoff of when you see her the second time. One without the other is either makes less sense.

At the risk of sounding like I endorse kidnapping, I find this change bothersome. Previous attraction amendments have all had underlying logic that I could grasp. This time it is not enough that the ride shows Jessica Rabbit getting the best of her kidnappers, the idea that she was ever in danger is too much. Or perhaps her suggestive positioning in the trunk was threatening to the park's family friendly image. It has become difficult to tell what has become unkocher in Disney's view. Change is often necessary and while it can feel daunting it also can be exciting. Instead of taking such opportunity, we have now seen that they are consistently going with resolutely innocuous alternatives. I can't fathom where they go from here.
