Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

Headed back to the resort. We forgot the parking pass.
This is what happens when you don't put it in the car immediately.
This happens all the time to us. We always are about to turn out of the resort, then remember we forgot the parking pass. So I run up to the room to grab it before we head out to our first park of the trip. It's been like this for the past several trips. You'd think we'd have it down by now!

As some of you know, I spend a lot of time on this site. A lot. Not just in Chit Chat. I read N & R religiously, follow the DS, DHS, and Avatarar sub forums, but I have not encountered this anywhere ....

I smell oranges. Soarin's oranges. In the PotC market scene. Both times we rode it yesterday. Hubby smelled it to. Also agreed it smells like Soarin'.

Are we nuts, or have they actually introduced an orange scent to PotC?

This is what happens when you take the bus to MK on the first day.

I had things planned a certain way, and then on zero sleep, I deviated from the plan and said, "let's take the bus". Ugh! I had planned on driving, to avoid the 60 minute hassle getting from the Poly back to the bus loop at MK, back to CSR.

Going forward Jennifer - stick to the schedule. It was meticulously planned after hours of research and repeated tweaking. It is a work of art, and not to be messed with.

On the plus side, I've got Hubby grabbing me some Gaviscon while he's back in the room.

We drive to every park other than MK. Buses are hassles at times, but we drove to MK one morning for EMHs, and they didn't start the monorail or ferry until the EMHs began, so we missed out on about 15-20 minutes of them. Since then we've taken the bus for early EMHs, and it's been a toss up for times other than the morning. Getting out of MK at night is a pain whether you take the bus or monorail/ferry.

10 minutes? I don't think so.
image.jpeg

But for the fact that I stopped to take this photo for you, it would have been 30 seconds. As it was, 45.

Although I would literally kiss the Alien from tGMR square on the lips to have the Jeremy Irons narration back, I think this ride is a perfect attraction on every level. The attention to detail blows my mind. This ride exemplifies the Disney difference.

Could someone please figure out how to get the treehouse ending? That is our goal every time, and so far we haven't found the right combination. :(

Can't say I'm going to miss these:

Guess where we're going.

After offering to take a family pic of ^^ for one family, and then being asked to by another family, we hoofed it to here:

20 minutes? Not hardly.

Puddy! I loves me some Puddy. Hubby knows if I ever had a shot with Puddy, then it's buh-bye Hubby, and hello Puddy. Bonus, he's almost as tall, so I'd be used to the height difference.

We were on concourse 2, section B (the middle), bottom row.
I love the new film. Still undecided about the cuts/segues (whatever they're called) between scenes. Will have to see it again and let you know.

I appreciate that they tried to keep the spirit of the original score. I just wish they'd kept MORE of it. Track 11 on my Disney Parks CD is easily the most played track of all.

Soarin' Around the World is a 10. Soarin' Over California was an 11!

Lunch. Anybody want to guess.

We both ordered the identical meal. When you know what you like ....

Close up:

It was all lovely, but I am not a big lunch eater, and Hubby absolutely inhaled his, so I saved him some.

Why Jennifer, you say, it looks like you picked up that pork chop bone and chewed it.
Why yes, I did.
I am 49 years old and past caring what people think. In many ways, middle age sucks, but the liberty it affords is wonderful!

The strawberry on top looked gross, so I didn't eat it; but you can be sure that I ate every other bite.

All caught up. Headed to Living with the Land, methinks.

Forgot to mention, the new Women's Soarin' potties are awesome. Sparkling clean, plenty of stalls; but some odd colour combos.

(I'm a potty collector, what can I say?! You should have seen me in downtown NYC. I racked up quite the impressive collection.)

Change of plans:
image.jpeg

We've already ridden.

New theatre this time. Concourse C, top row.
I was seated third from the very left of the theatre, and the curvature of the images was much more pronounced. Not a deal breaker by any means, just a comment.
New rating - 10.1. I still want my old musical score back though.
