Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

So while we're checking in, the lady beside us asks the person serving her, "Is there any pixie dust for us?", like six times!

Only in the Bible is it "Ask and ye shall receive".
Everywhere else it's, "Pipe down, and quit yer begging".

Lunch.

Chicken for me.

Close up:

I ate the corn bread first. It had little bits of jalapeño in it. Not too much of a kick. Just right.
Then I ate the veg. I always eat my veg, except for broccoli, which I could take or leave.
And you know darn well I ate all the mashed. The potatoes were buttery and delicious and the chicken gravy was piping hot.

This is what I saved for Hubby. He ate it.
image.jpeg

Dessert was to go, of course.
image.jpeg

Hubby says his burger was "Texas Bacon, with cheese". I'll take his word for it. I don't eat burgers at Disney. Turns out not "never", but only once.
image.jpeg

Look at how thick that bacon is! :jawdrop:
image.jpeg

He did not order his dessert to go, but he did end up adding almost half of it to my take-out container.
image.jpeg

No handles available. I has a sad.
What I do have though, is 90% Coke Zero with a splash of Cherry Coke.
I had two sips. Hubby is finishing it as I type.

And now, I think it's time for a wee nap. 45 mins. An hour tops. No FoF for us today.

We are up. A 45-minute nap does more for me than it does for Hubby.
He's s-l-o-w-l-y getting mobile again.

I'm considering taking the bus. Unlike the other parks, getting to MK is such a hassle in a car. The monorail and ferry certainly have their charms, but maybe not today.

Who can pass up a 10 minute wait? Not this guy!

And then a little visit to the Tangled potties. :hilarious:
image.jpeg

And now for the fist FP of the trip.

He's such a good sport.

And now we're on the PeopleMover, going through our next FP.
The outside of CoP really does look great! Soon to check out the inside, methinks!

On the beach at the Polynesian, waiting for Wishes to start. I fear Hubby may fall asleep in his lounge chair.

Okay, ride recap.
HM - Standby said 10 mins. It was probably less.
Seven Dwarf Mine Train - FP
PeopleMover - walk on
Carousel of Progress - walk on. Theatres appeared to be about 40% full.
Space Mountain - FP
Buzz - Standby said 20 minutes. Hubby asked, "do you really think it's 20?" Turns out as we walked up, the sign changed to 10. More like 5.
Pirates - Standby said 5 mins. It was 5.
Splash Mountain - FP. Front Row. We. Got. Soaked.
Back to Pirates - Standby said 5 mins. Might have been 6.

So, that was 9 rides/attractions in less than 4 hours. Score. No purchases were made. No snacks were had. No naps were taken.

"You may get wet." If you're not willing to get wet, don't board a water ride.

I was having a bad hair day anyway.
