Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

So, where was I before being so rudely interrupted by a busted shoe and a massive splinter?

After using our FP's at Soarin', we decided we'd better get cracking. So, sadly, no second spin on Soarin' and no Living with the Land.

We did however, hoof it over to the Ball.

Mr. Wozniak? Depends who you believe.

It is a beautiful sight.

Apparently I've lost the Caramilk secret, because I'm back to living in a snowy chalet.

Glad to hear you liked Frozen! I did too, so it doesn't matter what the naysayers say. I was entertained.

Do you believe I've never seen The American Adventure? When I was younger I was lucky I made it to see the countries period and this year we were pressed for time, so we just did a quick loop and unfortunately the next show wasn't until like 45 minutes later and we didn't have the time to wait. Some day...

Out the back door where I busted my sandal, and over to Ample Hills, where I ran the splinter in my big toe, and got some bad news from work.

Hubby got Strawberries & Cream. Said it was excellent. He especially loved the cone.
image.jpeg

I got Butter Pecan Brittle/Ooey Gooey Buttercake. Both flavours were delicious, but the hunks of buttercake were massive. No pic, sorry.

I, on the other hand, did not like the cone. Hubby ate it.

Some pics of a very menacing sky, which thankfully did not open on us, but instead blew over.

The American Adventure is awesome. Even as a Canadian, it makes me cry.

Our country's histories are so different.
I've had this discussion with my friend @Eric1955 before. Unless you've lived in Canada for a while, or visited often, you have no idea how very, very different we are, starting right from how each country was birthed.

And now we are hoofing it over to the Swalphin to pick up something for a friend. I always agree to do favours, and I'm usually sorry.

In bare feet, limping, it's a hike. But, mission accomplished, and a couple of pics of what is another very lovely resort.

The black rectangle, of course, is slated for the monorail pass through once it is finally extended.
Everybody knows that.

Can't believe your wait times. Loving the pics and how does you husband eat so much????

$700 at the Springs. If that's being cheap i'd love to shop with you on an uninhibited spree. I guess not paying for wifi really pads the budget.
Hubby is 6' 8", 235 lbs. It takes a lot of food to keep him moving.
Plus, I'm a pretty lousy cook, so he's stocking up on the good stuff while he can.

Heading out to dinner now at the Wave, where we will pull a no-no, and park at the Contemporary, but "forget" to move our car over to the TTC if we go to MK for an hour. Or we'll come straight back, and no no-no will be pulled.

Hubby just had a 20 minute snooze. I'm all caught up. And the splinter is still in my toe.

Two outta three ain't bad.

Dinner pics coming next.

I snapped this pic a second too late, but there is a boat going through the channel in the water bridge above us.

FYI - although the decision to return directly to the resort after dinner had already been made; the fact that I left my clear nighttime specs in the room merely confirms it.

What can I tell you? We like the bread here. A lot.

Mango smoothie and water for me.
Hubby was giddy to discover they still had the pomegranate lemonade.
image.jpeg

Appetizer for two.
Means one crab cake for Jennifer, and one crab cake and two fish tacos for Hubby.
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

We got the exact same entree, so I didn't worry too much when he started to dig in.
image.jpeg

Sadly, I am almost done with food today. I did eat the mashed and green beans, but literally only three bites of the tenderloin.
image.jpeg

Dessert. Both for Hubby.
Berry shortcake.
image.jpeg

Peanut butter cup.

I have a travel medical kit at the resort, which combined with these provisions:

... should serve to alleviate the pulse in my big toe.

And yay, we're going swimming.

On an unrelated note, you should see the weird stares/glares you get when you walk around wearing sunglasses at night.
