Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

You just reminded me - when we were eating at Garden Grill my dad didn’t realize the restaurant overlooked LwtL. So he spotted the buffalo and made the connection and thought it was really cool. He also didn’t realize the restaurant rotated. Out of nowhere he blurts out, “hey where’d the buffalo go?” So I quickly responded, “I saw him run off”. For a split second, the look on his face was priceless.

Dinner “in Mexico”.
Everything was very good, but holy jumping, talk about rushed!

“Our” drinks were delivered very quickly. Nachos and salsa a minute or two later; and less than four chips in, our mains.

No worries. There’s no rule that says you can’t eat chips and salsa during and after your entree.

This restaurant is dark. Probably the darkest of anywhere, including Sci Fi, so I used my flash. I’m not proud, but it is what it is.

Dos Equis draft and blood orange turpentine.

I ordered the shrimp (first thing on the menu).
It was really good. There was one single bite of something mega spicy in there that caused me to cough and cough.

Mike got the carne asada - steak. (I’ll be getting that tomorrow at Frontera Cocina.)
He says everything was excellent. The rice had a bit of a kick though.

No flash.

Flash.
Chocolate mousse for me. Dang, it was good - minus the berries.

Mike, of course, got ice cream. Shocker.

Sadly this won’t fit in my luggage.
Also, I don’t think it’s actually up for grabs.

I called yesterday’s recap “Day 5”, but I’m pretty sure today is Day 7, so I’ve goofed up somewhere.

We deviated from the plan today - doing more, not less for a change.

With it being a MNSSHP night at MK, a lot of people chose to go to other parks offering later hours. Good for us.

To the best of my recollection, our day went something like this ....

(Turns out they didn’t have slots for my credits cards/driver’s licence. )

Regrets over taking the bus - a whole lot in the beginning, some more in the middle, none at the end.

I bought three of these keychains (returned none), and one of the HM key ring lanyards.

Mike calls this upside down waterfall. This sounds like something a young Ski would say, but he’s sawing logs, so I can’t ask him.

The alarm is set for 9:30 tomorrow. Epcot by 11-something. 11-anything will make me happy.

Dinner at Frontera Cocina, and then MK for HEA, which I STILL have not seen. I listen to the music every day at work, but I have yet to see the show live from the park. (From ‘Ohana last year doesn’t count.)

We’re getting near the end of our trip, but there are still four full park/resort days to go. Not getting sad yet.

Hi JS - I understand your big dog issue - we have a 90 pd English Lab - we love him to death - but when he goes near other people we are respectful of their fears - good for you to pet the dog !

Time to get dressed and head out?

Nope, time to throw in a load or two of laundry. I am out of clean bras. (TMI?)

We’ve actually burned through (technically sweated through ) a lot of clothes this week. I think this is the first time I’ve had to do mid-trip laundry since we last brought both of the boys.

Might as well go swimming while waiting for the laundry. Are we flexible or what? But first, coffee!

I go through so many more clothes in the humid atmosphere of Disney World than the much hotter, but dry city I live in, Palm Springs, California.
Of of course, being out and about so much doesn't help.
I always have to do at least one laundry load halfway through each trip.

I do mid-week laundry as well. Once I go back to the room mid-day I need to change - no exceptions. The combination of heat, humidity, sweat and sunscreen makes for a really gross grubby feeling only clean clothes can slightly combat.
