Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

But first.
In the spirit of pretending to try new things, I touched my lip to the rim, got a mouthful of rock salt, and very classily spit it into my napkin. Nasty stuff.

This had the potential to be awesome - mango, beet, and goat cheese salad. The dressing just had waaaay too much of a kick for my bland tastebuds. I had a couple of bites. Mike ate the rest.

Very, very flavourful. Not as hot (temperature wise) as I would have liked. Certainly not cold enough to complain about. And those roasted plantains ... ooooh Baby!

Dessert.

I am quite comfortable. Not over-full at all.
Mike is having terrible pain with his bad knee, traveling all the way down his calf now.

I think we should just call it a day. He wants to be a hero. No need for that. He’s already MY hero. Besides, I need him to work for me for a couple of weeks after my surgery next week. No sense in breaking him down before then.

I’ll keep you posted.

Frontera Cocina is such an undiscovered gem. So few people talk about going there.
But it's really great high quality Mexican food!

Our 2-Park day became a 1-Park day, became a no-Park day - and that’s okay.

Mike is getting ice for his calf. I am fetching coffee.

That’s one of the perks of an 11 day trip. Lots of flexibility to do as little or as much as you want.

But it's really great high quality Mexican food!

Agreed. We like it a lot. This is our third time eating here.

We did some shopping at Columbia. A couple of tees for the Ski, a new bathing suit for Mike, a plush blankie for ?, and this shirt and shorts for Mike. I like this shirt a lot.

Just heard a nice story on the news tonight.
The parents of Lane Thomas Graves (the little boy killed by the alligator at the GF two years ago) have welcomed a new baby, Christian Lane Graves.

This news actually brought a tear to my eye.

Lookie lookie where we ended up.

Loaded fries. Mike liked these better than me.
I thought they were good, but really, really salty.

You automatically get two dips - with either three strips or five. Two dips is not enough for five.
We never did see a sauce slinger.
These are really, really good, high quality strips.

Mike got the maple bourbon sandwich. He saved me a bite. This was off the charts good.

Sadly, I forgot to order the deep fried pickles.
We were able to snag an indoor table, so I was afraid to go back up.

As I type, the vultures are circling. You don’t even have your food yet. Simmer down. What’s funny is that the people on EACH side of us have laid claim to our table. In the meantime, I’m drinking my Diet Coke.

The chocolate in this was the best chocolate I have ever tasted. And I know chocolate. I’m from Canada. Our chocolate kicks your chocolate’s butt. Just ask Bestie.
