Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

To be continued ....

We’re waiting a few minutes. It’s still REALLY coming down.

It’s lovely up here on the balcony.

(Mike is reading my trip report as a lurker, and is still going on about Toy Story Land. It’s kind of funny. I guess we can say he’s not a fan.)

I’m not a fan of any area that is a closed circuit with one way in/out. Makes for chaotic traffic flows.

That's exactly what happened on our last visit. The next course continuously showed up 2-3 minutes after the previous. We felt like we needed to gobble our food before things got cold. I suppose we should have said something, but didn't.
Our ADR was a fairly late one & I'm guessing our server wanted to finish up & get out.
But I still love 'Ohana & look forward to returning.
Again, just questions for you? Did you happen to tell the server you were not ready for the next course, OR, I believe it is all you can eat, I would just ask for more food, if the server said something, I would just say its all cold, you brought it out way to fast, I would like some fresh food, for the cost involved and the quality of food, I would never allow them to rush me, I would relax and enjoy.

Being it was our first time there... I didn't know to do any of those things, but it did seem like everything had been sitting out for awhile... I dunno what caused the meal to be so hurried, but I found it very off-putting, and for the price, we won't try in again for a long time.

eta: oops you weren't asking me.. but here's my answer anyway

Wasn't that big a deal at the time. Just chiming in that I had the same experience as somebody else.
Sorry if I insulted your favorite restaurant.
But thank God you were able to give me advice on how to handle 'Ohana next time I'm there.😉

@Rista1313 and @worldfanatic , I have been hearing the same thing from multiple people about the rushed service at 'Ohana, but we had the exact opposite experience in June. I was actively looking for our server between courses because it was taking so long!! We were there on a day off during our Universal trip, so we didn't have anywhere we needed to be, but I would have been upset if we had! It would be nice to have a happy medium and everyone could be satisfied!!

Sorry to interrupt your report @JenniferS , I'm really enjoying following along!

As we’re walking into Epcot ....

Mike: Are we doing the Ball?
Me: Yes, we’re doing the Ball. We are Ball kind of people.
Mike: Yes we are.

So we did the Ball.

Score. Mike knows the Caramilk secret. We got “the treehouse”.

Grass carpet may not be the best for someone who is allergic to grass, but I vacuum/he mows, so I win.

We have FP’s for Soarin’, but Stand-By was at 15 mins, so he suggested we go SB first, then use our FP’s. You don’t need to ask me twice.

Dinner is at 6:50 at the Garden Grill. This is another meal we really enjoy. The characters are just a bonus.

I have actually only eaten breakfast there, dinner for the first time will be this Thanksgiving, I just know that I pay a lot to eat at these restaurants and I want to ensure we enjoy the experience I am sorry you guys had that experience, that kinda sucks
