JellyRolls

Every time I've went, there has been a lot of business folks that must be there for a convention. I've had fun the few times I've gone though.

After threatening to go there on many previous trips we finally went there about 2 years ago. It was fun, but not what I would call great. Part of it may have been because we went around 9:00 pm and I got the sense that things didn't really start rockin' until much later. Not to take anything away from the performers, they were very good.
One thing though, at that time you couldn't charge to your room so bring plenty of cash (the drinks aren't cheap!). Don't know if that has changed.

I've been twice and have gotten in free with my CM id. It was really neat- the pianists are certainly talented. For $12, though, you really can't just stop in for a drink for a few minutes. The drinks are also somewhat pricey, but nothing too unexpected. I think it's worth it if you have a few hours to devote to it.

The last time I went to Jellyrolls was a few years ago, it was good but not worth the $12 (at the time it was $10) cover fee. The problem I have with Jellyrolls is once you leave the building (in my friend's case, for a smoke break) you are not allowed back in unless you pay another cover fee. With that being said if your looking for a nice place to relax with some drinks, Big River Brewing at The Boardwalk has a very nice outdoor area and a great craft beer selection.

Its a blast! Definitely worth the cover and if you want a break or to dance you can run across the boardwalk to Atlantic Dance hall for a trip around the dance floor and then come back to JellyRolls for the entertainment.

That conflicts with what an above poster said about not being allowed back in if you leave. I wonder what the actual official policy is.

PS -When I went in 2013, they were having some very reasonable beer specials. Don't recall the exact price but in the $5.00 range......and we had a blast.

Last time I was there I was allowed to come in and out of JellyRolls after I had paid. They gave me a large stamp on my hand that took forever to come off so I didn't have to que up to get back in.

That sounds like what I remember too. I thought I was crazy when I read the above post that said you had to pay again if you left. That just flies in the face of logic.

Jellyrolls is the best nightlife on property. The only people not having fun are stick in the mud types. Here's some helpful tips...

1. Get there early, especially on the weekends. If you beat the illuminations crowd, you are much more likely to get a table.

2. Bring small bills, 1s and 5s, you'll need it to make song requests.

3. Try the giant plastic cup drinks. Decent deal and fun to drink.

4. Cut loose. Sing, dance, request songs. You'll have an awesome time.

Oh yeah, don't go to Atlantic Dance Hall. It's empty, weird, and not fun.

You are so right about everything in this post. And my experience with Atlantic Dance was exactly the same as yours. Totally deserted. Really a shame, and a waste of a great space.

Never been but sounds like Jellyrolls is the same concept as a pretty famous bar we have here in nola in the French quarter called Pat O'Brains. They also have one at UNI City Walk too. If so, it has to be a good time lol

Jellyrolls usually won’t do repeats, if a song is played earlier in the evening they will in general not play it again. Pats will, which is good if dropping in late. If you set up shop might get a bit old in Pats.
Jellyrolls lets patrons fill in the blanks vs Pats will go blue.

Jellyrolls is fun... The Dance Hall is so odd... I went once and not a single person were there.... It's key location and I have no clue why they have not changed it.

I peeked in last time I was thre a few weeks ago, nothing struck me as outstanding. You may want to hop into Atlantic Dance, they lifted the cover charge as of Jan 1.

We completely agree with xdan. Jellyrolls is a blast, and we end up going multiple times every trip. You do need to get there early to get a table. They open at 7, but the performers don't start until 8, then switch off every hour. They will not perform songs that contain certain language. Remember that it is Disney, and they have to stick to family entertainment, even if everyone is over 21. We stay until closing every time as well, and if you go more than once, there is a good chance that they will remember you! Our server remembers us from the last several times that we have gone, and we make sure to sit in her area if we can. A few of the performers remember us as well. We always have a great time. Oh, and yes, you can leave and get back in. Hence the stamp on your hand. We have asked before, and that is what they told us when we went in. We do not think the cover is bad at all.
