Jay Rasulo to stick around a bit longer ...

Reminds me of when Eisner kicked Roy Disney off the Board of Directors, then Iger later made him 'Director Emeritus' to appease the SaveDisney fanboys, who were worried nobody was listening to Roy's pleas about what the company stood for (branding is for cattle etc.). Yeah, that panned out well!

It might be annoying for someone who cared about the product to be in that situation, but for someone like Jay it's a sweet deal, he can just put his feet on the desk, answer the occasional email and refresh his ever-growing bank balance until leaving day.

Again, I wouldn't sell short the fact Jay is respected in China while Darth Iger and the Oddly Waifish Man of Anemic Personality are largely not (to put it kindly!)

JR is a big reason why ANY deal got done. Iger couldn't close it. And Staggs ... ... what's the saying a friend of a friend said in 1987 when he dumped his girlfriend before heading to the islands? ... Oh yea, you don't take a ham sandwich to a buffet.

I'm not selling it short. In fact, putting him in that special advisor role for .... (?) may have came up this week and makes perfect sense.

Staggs scares the bejesus out of me for the future of this company.

You mean to say you aren't impressed that he replaced a few princess meet and gropes with a pleasant coaster?

I heard he thought the giraffe poop was the best this week.

I was on a cruise once with a middle lower level CM that loved her some Staggs.

Since when are you a Rasulo fan? He is clearly one of Iger's biggest mistakes, letting him run P&R was a disaster and he didn't pull him quickly enough.

A fan?!?!?

Never.

I'm just being honest. I'm not a fan of Iger, but I can say that buying Marvel or Lucas were smart financially or that ESPN is a great business for Disney.

Compare what was greenlit and what was done on Rasulo's watch versus what has happened under Staggs as head of P&R. They both are cancers on the company, make no mistake about it. But JR did far more for the parks than Tom has. Yes. I realize how scary that is. The truth often is!

I have to disagree, MK has improved dramatically since Staggs took over. He may not be a visionary, but he is at least funding basic maintenance. And apparently was the leader when these green lights occurred this week.

I can't judge Staggs on anything but my personal experiences...and so far he has been a better manager of WDW's assets. He may be a horrible person, but at the moment I don't care.
