Jaws

Jaws sat on a HUGE piece of land, but was incredibly expensive to operate. Meanwhile, Uni is looking for a large patch of grass on which to place The Boy Lived And Who Sells Food And Merch Like It's Going Out Of Style.
The only other spot that may have worked is the lot between MIB and Simpsons, but then you lose out on valuable storage space... and you're not immediate next to a large, underperforming theatre... Just sayin'.

The wikipedia page about the Jaws Ride at UO has a really detailed chronology of all the difficulties and many closing and refurbs that Jaws went thru, just trying to get it to be reliable. It was a great ride (IMHO) but it was untenable for the park.

Not for nothing, but it was there for 20+ years.
I know it was there for a long time but I was working and saving money so I can live my retirement the way I want. People like my sister who spent and spent doing things during their twenties and thirties can't retire in their fifties and enjoy a long and wonderful retirement but will have to work into her seventies. I can now affordable 3 weeks at Walt Disney World and the rest of the winter in southwest Florida. Summer at the Jersey Sore and the rest of the year wherever I finally build my retirement home. While I wish I had seen the Jaws ride I do not regret properly planning my life and living reasonably. Dave Ramsey and Susie Orman are right l. Live like no one else so you can live like no one else and live within your needs but below your means.

I am shocked at the problems Universal had with the ride. I really think they could get it right now if they tried. After all look at the rides they have done resently.

I guess they dont want to and have other ideas to persue.

Remember the first version was such a tragic mess that MCA sued the company who made it. Version two was far more reliable so theres nothing to be shocked about.
