WWoHP is staying in IOA....if you want to know more about what's going into Jaws' plot of land....look no further that what is about to COUGH(transformers)COUGH Universal Hollywood.

So sad about Jaws :( Such a classic. I love Harry Potter and I think the area in Islands is amazing but I just hope it doesn't completely take over. They need things other than just Potter.

I just got an email fron universal about jaws one last ride, so sad. i wish it had not changed from its original ride cause it was more fun getting spun around by jaws.
If they joined the two sides they would have to put in another admission gate since its two separate parks so im thinking its transformers.

Oh it's for transformers. Remember this is universal. They don't have the blessing of size like WDW. Whenever an attraction is put down a new one always comes in at UO.

Your positive?

As positive as I can be without working for the company. Thierry Coup has said the ride won't be coming to Orlando. And even if it did, that plot of land is gigantic. Way more room than what would be needed for Transformers.

This is very saddening for us. Especially for my son and I. We love this ride, and this last trip it was beyond outstanding. We had Skipper Josh, and he was HILARIOUS!! Unfortunately, we won't be back until mid-March, so we'll miss it before it's gone. I remember that during our March 11 trip, my son and I went on it about 18 times in a row while my wife and daughter were doing the Mummy. I sure am going to miss Jaws.

I hate to say it, but the original park is beginning to suffer from Epcotitis. Ghostbusters, King Kong, Back To The Future, and now Jaws. The first 3 all replaced by rides/attractions not as good as it's predecessor (though Mummy is awesome.)

If there is any truth to this land becoming more Harry Potter, I'll be ed. Enough Potter already. There's plenty of room at IoA to expand. The Lost Continent is a complete waste of space as is right now. And if they build an entire land for Transformers, I'll never step foot in the park.

Obviously, Universal knows what's going there. Instead of ing people off by closing Jaws, let us know what you're replacing it with and ease the sting. Common sense.

I think the Epcotitis prognosis is a little premature.
Other than Ghostbusters-Twister, all of Universal's replacement rides have been as good if not better than the attractions they replaced.
Still, Jaws is a hard loss.
It's an attraction so simple that it doesn't matter how long it's been since the film was popular, and I wouldn't be surprised to see another iteration of it pop up in another Universal park a couple years down the road.

I heard that Transformers was a possibility in the spot where they just knocked down the old Hard Rock Cafe. Of course those rumors have been conflicting for a while.

Boy, this guy is going to be devastated:

That was awesome.

I kind of doubt this. Jaws has never been turned into a full attraction anywhere else in the 20 years since it was built in Orlando. I unfortunately believe that this attraction has seen it's last days completely.

As long as it isn't Harry Potter or based off an animated movie like Shrek or Despicable Me, I'm fine with Jaws closing. I'll miss it (and the extended queue they use for Halloween Horror nights) but hopefully it is something better than Simpsons (before you bash me, that ride makes me nauseous...).

Incorrect, it was built in Universal Studios Japan

Looking at Bing and Google maps, immediately behind Jaws is a large parking lot. I'm not sure who owns this land but if it's Universal, this lot plus Jaws, plus Fear Factor makes for a large piece of real estate!

Might these be combined to create an entirely new land?

That section of the employee lot was turned into apartments (employee-related) about a year ago or more.

Probably because this was a recent decision, what's replacing it is a big deal, and they want to have a big, grand announcement for it.
