Oh it's for transformers. Remember this is universal. They don't have the blessing of size like WDW. Whenever an attraction is put down a new one always comes in at UO.
Again...not Transformers.
Your positive?

It's an attraction so simple that it doesn't matter how long it's been since the film was popular, and I wouldn't be surprised to see another iteration of it pop up in another Universal park a couple years down the road.
I kind of doubt this. Jaws has never been turned into a full attraction anywhere else in the 20 years since it was built in Orlando. I unfortunately believe that this attraction has seen it's last days completely.
Looking at Bing and Google maps, immediately behind Jaws is a large parking lot. I'm not sure who owns this land but if it's Universal, this lot plus Jaws, plus Fear Factor makes for a large piece of real estate!
Might these be combined to create an entirely new land?
Incorrect, it was built in Universal Studios Japan
Obviously, Universal knows what's going there. Instead of ing people off by closing Jaws, let us know what you're replacing it with and ease the sting. Common sense.
