jan. crowd levels

We went last January, week of MLK day, and it was great. We have gone 6 years in a row that week, and although the crowds are a little bigger each year, we love it. We actually went 3 weeks ago for the free dining, and NEVER AGAIN. The crowds were crazy, and the heat just saps all your energy. I love January. We go to ride the rides and be in the parks so I guess it might depend on what you like. I highly recommend January. :) Wait times; about 10 minutes max! Sometimes more, but never really long. Most wait times are about 5 minutes. Just FASTPASS any waits over 30 minutes (there usually aren't many; maybe Soarin' at the peak of the day).

LOL we were just there 2 weeks ago & WOW. i could not believe the crowd level. i was so used to wait times of maybe 15 minutes(with the exception of peter pan..seems like no matter what the crowds are like it is the longest wait time) but this time i saw wait times up to 60 minutes. 1 time we walked onto a ride. don't know how it happened. so i think we are going to skip sept & go for jan next year(09)

We went last January 8-18. It wasn't too bad, but it was more crowded than I had expected. Most rides weren't too long in lines in the morning, but as you got into the afternoon the lines got longer.

The usual rides had long lines, TT had waits of over an hour a lot of the time, EE had waits of 2 hours one day, Peter Pan had waits of 45 minutes all of the time, ToT had really short waits most of the time, BTMRR had waits over an hour most of the time. Basically, if you just fast pass the rides you will be fine.

Funny story though, on BTMRR we got a fp and were waiting in line, the stand by line was so long and this woman in that line was really mad at us for moving in so quickly. She yelled at me asking me how I got to move so fast. I told her about fast pass really quickly and she was like, how do I get one of those, are they free. :ROFLOL: It amazes me how many people walk around having no idea what is going on around them.

We ONLY go in January for long weekends (kids are off). Last time was 2004 and no waits except Test track because it keeps breaking down. We'll be there over MLK in 2008 and hope the crowds are fine. I've Tour Guide Mike in reserve just in case.

There's a lot to be said for going in January.
Watch for too many planned refurbishments but lately they've been doing those year round.
There won't be any Christmas decorations up but you know that beforehand.

Have fun.
