Not with vBulletin, which is the old software. Steve jumped ship just in time. Many other major forums still use vBulletin, but it's dying. And it's also one of the most cumbersome and complicated forums to install, maintain, skin and operate. It didn't natively allow users to edit their own thread titles, or even delete their own posts.

This software is extremely versatile, while also clean and easy to install, skin and moderate. Its database integration is much better, which means you risk less corruption by letting everyone make edits. It also has to do with the URL structure and fixed posts-per-page.
