Jambo vs Kidani??

We're all for saving money so yes. I was quoting it and it was more for kidani then I quoted a few weeks later and it was $70 less, not sure why?! So, we did change to the kidani and I think having 2 bathrooms will be a plus.. I never thought of just driving over, how's the parking, is it hard to get a parking spot? Is it reserved?
If you rent, Jambo and Kidani rooms are identical in price. Renting will typically save you about half off Disney cash rates, which is obviously a better deal than even the 25-30% off promotions Disney occasionally has (which may not include AKV Villas).
I am clueless about renting
Simply Google or Bing "DVC Rental" -- the top 3 results are the 3 brokers you have to chose from -- all are good, simple, and painless. Just keep in mind you need to book DVC at least 7 mos out to get what you want -- Kidani is usually one of the last ones to sell out though, so may be able to book slightly inside 7 mos. Once you get used to renting you can rent direct to save a couple extra bucks off broker rates, but I'd start with a broker.

No not usually hard to get a spot at Kidani but sometimes you have to park farther away than you would like away from your sections elevator. Not reserved but we always found a spot to park but like mentioned it maybe was a little farther to walk to our sections elevator. Not bad at all though. :)

not to hijack the thread, but we are doing our 1st trip to AKL and staying at Jambo. According to this chart, the only animal viewing is from the 5th and 6th floors??

can anyone shed some light on that? seems to exclude a lot of rooms, and thats the whole reason we are staying there.

The DVC Savannah view rooms are only on the 5th and 6th floor. All the regular/standard Savannah view rooms at AKL Jambo those are on all the rest of the floors. DVC rooms are only on those 2 floors that's why it says that in the comparisons. Only 2 floors at Jambo are DVC dedicated rooms. Kidani the whole resort is all DVC rooms. :)

gotcha, thanks....I figured it sounded odd, but forgot to realize that it was a DVC focused chart. We are DVC so I guess its safe to say we will be up in there.

second question, any particular wing or area that would be best for giraffe viewing? my daughter is obsessed with them.

You're very welcome and just realized I kinda rambled my answer sorry. Haha! We are DVC too but always stay at Kidani our fave out of the 2 for the larger/nicer rooms and extra bathrooms, so I can't offer any advice about the best area to see the giraffes at Jambo. Being you are in a Savannah view room you should see them fairly well at Jambo. At Kidani if you end up in Pembe Savannah there is no giraffes being the Okapi is over on that one but the Sunset Savannah view at Kidani and part of Jambo the giraffes are plentiful and we saw them often. :)

we decided to do Jambo b/c of the grandeur of it being its out 1st time there. It will be the 1st part of a split stay b/t there and BLT. We are only doing a studio at AKL b/c it's only for 4 days, then the 1bdrm at BLT for the other 9. Being its early in the trip, we dont mind being a little tighter (and cheaper points), bc we will still like each other at the early point in the trip lol.

thanks for the info!

Haha! Totally understand and frankly a studio is the same at both Jambo and Kidnai for the most part anyway. Both lobby's are awesome but yes Jambo is much larger and grander. We always visit Jambo to eat and shop even when staying at Kidani or another resort every trip. You will love it! Hope you all have a wonderful trip!! :D
