Here is another news article on Michael Jackson. This time he is dangling his newest child over a railing that's 5 stories up. I think he's more concerned with keeping a mask over the kids face than his safety. Poor kid.....:veryconfu

When I was 2, my family went to Epcot and were there for the premiere of "Captain Eo" (sp?). Since I was too young to go into such an attraction at the time, my mom and brother went inside to see the show while my dad waited outside w/me in the stroller while I'll slept. Well, unbeknownst to the public, Micheal Jackson just happened to be there that night for the opening of his movie! While my mom and bro were inside, my dad saw a man come outside covering his face with his jacket followed by a couple of HUGE men. Well, the man was at sort of a fast walk and not watching where he was going ran into my stroller. He stopped, took the jacket from his face and appologized to my dad. It was Micheal Jackson! Shortly after, a body guard swept him away and told my dad that he had to hurry. So, that was my brush with fame... even if it was with someone like Micheal Jackson :hurl:

It's a real shame that people can't see past his face and the ridiculous tabloid crap and realize what a great man Michael Jackson is.

His is, by far, the most influential figure in music overall in the past century, AND has given to others much more than he has taken, especially to children. This stupid thing about him "dangling" his child off of a balcony is so stupid it's pathetic. If you've seen the video you'd realize he was doing nothing wrong.

My favorite part of that story is that he said he wants kids because his childhood was so lonely.

Hello? Doesn't he have like 7 or 8 siblings??

NOTHING WRONG????????
If that child would have fallen and died would you have been singing the same tune? if you look at the video the babies feet got caught on the bar and he was holding him with only 1 hand! That`s wreckless Child endangerment!

overreaction....

i don't want to get into an argument about him, so i'm gonna leave this thread alone from here on out. i can't stand to read people's comments about a man they know nothing about except for what they hear on tv.

the only thing id like to add is why did the baby have a white thing over its head or do all his siblings get to cover their faces?

oh and if any of the families i look after in my job would like to try and dangle their babies out of a high balcony social services would be paying them a call the next day .It s not safe which ever way you look at it .

Well, I've come to a conclusion about the whole "White thing over it's head"

Either...Michael feels that nobody is "priveledged" enough to see the face of the baby (much like he used to cover his face...now he just does it because it's hideous).

or...

The baby itself was ashamed to have Michael as a father.

Michael is a joke. Unfortunately he is one of the most influential, for the wrong reasons. Why doesn't anyone ever mention who he is trying to look like....Diana Ross.

I have absolutely no interest in Michael Jackson, but I have to agree with MSUSA that this whole thing got blown out of proportion. It may have been a bit reckless, but most parents play with their children, tossing them in the air, swinging them, holding them with one arm as he was. Even if a baby fell four feet, it would be hurt, and no parent would ever want that to happen, but I've never seen or heard of that happening.

There's just a certain way a parent holds a child. You can be playful, but you always have control and know there is no chance the baby will fall. I would guess (and I certainly don't have any data to back this up) children that experience that sort of motion and playfulness when they are very young will be better adjusted than kids whose parents treat them like eggs.

With all that said, there's certainly no need to do it over a balcony, and Jacko was being somewhat irresponsible, but it isn't worthy of international news coverage.

What's with kids fascination with him, now Justin Timberlake is trying to look like Michael Jackson, and sing like him, and dance like him, and dress like him...

Anyone who has heard his new song knows what I mean.. however I will give credit.. MJ does have the best Video ideas out there, and some very good songs.

Main Street...I understand what you are saying and I'm on your side for some of it.

Michael Jackson is a very talented performer and entertainer...and he HAS influenced the music industry and I am truly a fan of his music (granted...I didn't like his latest album) but back in the days of Thriller and Billy Jean and Beat It, along with Rock With You, and ABC...I even like the Dangerous album with Jam, Black and White, Remember the Time, and how can ANYBODY forget possibly the best SuperBowl halftime show of all time with the entire crowd singing along to HEAL THE WORLD holding up a giant Mural of children holding hands.

Don't get me wrong though...his personal life is an entirely different story. If he indeed was guilty for molestation then I am totally against him...and I did see that video...granted, it was really short...but...he did indeed "dangle" the child over the railing...and he was NOT holding that baby securely! (the baby was struggling). Even if he was holding the baby securely, you do not hold a baby over the railing from the 5th story of a building...you don't hold a baby over a railing PERIOD. Any accident could have happened...what if he slipped...of tripped...or (by the way he was holding it) SNEEZED???

But, Main Street...I will not take anything away from his musical talent or entertainment skills...but his personal life is NOT anywhere near SANE.

There's a lot better chance that a child falling five or six feet will live. Plus you have a chance of catching the child when it's closer to the ground. Not a chance at five stories.

Plus most people that throw their kids up are ready to catch them and are using 2 hands. Wacko was using 1 arm and wouldn't have had a chance to catch him.
