Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
Depends on what you enjoy as a couple. Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
Cruises are awesome, but my girlfriend and I prefer all-inclusive resorts. More relaxing. We do one day seeing the local culture and 3 days not leaving the resort. Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
My wife and I have cruised as a couple on Royal Caribbean to Alaska, and on Carnival to Cozumel/Yucatan. We also took one cruise with a grown daughter to the Bahamas. Excursions were the fun part. Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
Disney cruises are really fun. When we go just as an adult couple me and my wife have an amazing time. Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
Yes, they can be a lot of fun. But if you get seasick, not so much. I would recommend taking a brief 3-4 night cruise on a medium-size ship for your first time to make sure you're not sensitive to the boat rocking. Those mega-ships can be overwhelming in their size and everything they have to do. You need a few nights just to get your bearings. Are cruises fun? I don't have children, just myself and my wife.
Yes, the Original Poster might say a bit moreNo one can tell you if your vacation will something you enjoy. What are you looking for in a vacation?
My wife and I did not hang out with anyone that was at our dining table. We did everything on our own. Oh, and the pools on cruise ships are not really great for swimming - way too many people. Even the adult-only areas have small pools. I'm a triathlete and the best training I could get in was the treadmill or stationary bikes in the gym (the free stuff - not the spin classes that charge a fee). I must say that it is an interesting experience running on a treadmill while the ship is in motion. But, some great views during the workouts! Some of my neighbors down the street from me cruise all of the time. Sounds kind of fun to me. Was just looking for something different out there. Strange question: What do you do if you don't enjoy the people that you're traveling with? We're not really big partyers. I'm a big swimmer myself.
I am one who thought cruising would not be for me as I like to be very active while on vacation (sight-seeing, hiking, etc.). My mom and sister had been on a cruise before and my sister said that it was an awful experience and said that I would not have fun. We were all wrong!!! My cruise last year was probably one of my favorite vacations in a long time. I never felt trapped while on the ship and had a blast. If you don’t enjoy the people you are traveling with, there are plenty of activities you can do without them. While I get along with my travel partners, we still separated and did other activities while on board. For example, my mom wanted to go relax in the rainforest room while my sister and I did other activities. She and I played trivia frequently and often wound up in one of the movie theaters. It's been quite sometime since I have really traveled in the world. The last time actually I took a flight was years ago going to Vegas. I have been to Hawaii and all around England and Scotland. Ive also been to the Grand Bahama island years ago. My wife hasn't extensively traveled with me, just to Vegas. I did get somewhat seasick, but that was when I was dating someone else prior. We went salmon fishing out in the ocean in Washington state.. The weather was pretty bad that day and the winds were very choppy. My head didn't stop spinning until after a day, actually. If I was on a 14 day cruise all u can eat several times a day I would gain at least 5 pounds.Did 14 day cruise on Holland America to Alaska absolutely great food, entertainment, scenery would recommend.
Oh wow, a triathlete. I used to run pretty seriously, but that was a time ago in my 20s. Sounds wonderful about seeing the wonderful views during workouts on a cruise ship. Sometimes it can be hard for me to navigate swimming the laps at the Y.My wife and I did not hang out with anyone that was at our dining table. We did everything on our own. Thank you for the great story! Very informative!Hi Eric!
The bigger the ship, the more there is to do. I've cruised on Royal Caribbean International (RCI) a few times and will go again in Dec. of this current year.
Here are the different size ships with some details about each "class" of ship. I hope you find this to be helpful...
