To celebrate spring I spent Saturday shopping for summer clothes. So far that sounds normal enough but whenever a sales person asked what I wanted or was looking for I started talking about my upcoming trip and how I was going to need clothes for the world. Not just that I was going but what clothes I wanted to wear for each park! Do any of you just go over the top when planning or talking about planning a Disney trip?

I make of check list of everything Ill be wearing each day and evening during my visit. I pack it the same way, day by day, so that when I get there and unpack it takes about a minute for me to put everything in the drawer. Then I spent no time each day saying what am I going to wear today? My clothes for the day, morning and evening, are all set. All I have to do is shower, shave, shine and open the drawer.

Off topic for the thread, but it was your avatar that inspired me to get shots of the kid behind Zurgs bars this past trip.

Love it, love it.

As far as on topic...I plan out outfits for each day as well...and pack them as outfits (rolling pants/underwear/socks/shirts together).

Not as much for me but for my girls... (not anymore they are to old :( ) I would spend months buying matching boutique outfits off ebay... they had something that went with whatever park, or character we saw for that day... It was a lot of fun.
As far as myself... I will always pick up something special for one of our dinners... My DH and I always try to have a date night... :)

I can sometimes talk about nothing but my trip! Or Disney. But not usually what clothes I'm wearing. The first time to Disneyland I obsessed over wearing a shirt that says Walt Disney World. Then on my next trip, I obsessed over wearing something that said Disneyland. I go for along time (2 weeks in August) and always end up doing laundry, to it's basically the, "If it's clean!" rule. The only thing I plan are my travel day outfits. A bad experience at 13 when I was first discovering the meaning of being female taught me never to wear white on travel days!

Summer clothes shopping is essential however planning outfits for a particular park is too much planning :p

Planning for me is just what parks we will visit on what days, what ride should we start with and think about any shows we need to make room for as well as what restuarant we plan on eating in that day and that is about it.

I must say people here do plan way too much considering most people here have visited several times. I would say planning is only really essential for first timers since once you are familiar, planning is not really needed so much. I usually just stick to the same plan each time with a few modifications. People also talk about how important ADRs are yet I have never made one and have always got seated at the restaurant we choose and this is in peak Summer season.

Figgy where did you looks and what did you find?
Charlotte Russe and Forever 21. Those were the stores I had the best luck at!! I found everything on sale!! 2 skirts with lace overlay at CR One black and one royal blue found a tank with a blue rose print and 2 white camis also found a sheer white sleeveless and a sheer bright pink button down hence the need for the camis! Still putting the rest of my wardrobe together. I have a nice kacki A-line skirt and white tank for AK looking for a vest to go with it. Still going through my closet and will hit the stores again before I leave!

We always visit WDW in the winter so I start by monitoring the forecast in that area about 10 days out and keep watching it. It pretty much tells me the kind of clothing to pack...shorts, tees, jeans etc. We don't figure out particular clothes for a particular day or park, just clothes for warm days or cold days. This past January it was shorts and tees the entire two weeks. I don't do laundry on vacation so I have it down pat, how much to bring too!

I like @figmentfan423 have been planning this trip down to the last detail. I started by rebooking our Vila two weeks after returning from our last trip. Would have been sooner but the owners were away!! I have everything down on our itinerary, including where we're going, where we are eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, all my reservations have been done or ages and I have even booked my outside reservations this year as well so not to be disappointed. And my darling DH has found me the official disney font!!! so now everything i have written is now in disney font. I have even made up daily envelopes for money, parking charges, petrol so on an so forth. I spent the weekend washing and ironing all our holiday clothes and they have now been put away ready to go in the suitcases, and this weekend I'm going to put all our toiletries away as well. I'm being super organised :):):);)

Sounds cute! Loving the lace look right now. Got my DD's some lace peplum mint colored tips at Tarjay this weekend. I ordered a lace dress at Old Navy Maternity that I think I might wear for DD's 1st Communion and for dinner out after we leave WDW for the beach. Then I found brontosaurus earings at a fun boutique for our T Rex Cafe lunch, my 2year old is Dino obessed.
Some think I am crazy but love skirts and dresses in the parks, too. They are so much cooler temperature wise and I look dorky in shorts. I like an above the knee lenght so I can bend over and tend to the children in the parks with out giveing my own Streetmosphere side show.
Oh just remembered a very light weight scarf at White House Black Barket in a fun tiger print. It was on super clearance, like 9.99. Would work with your AK outfit and with just about anything else in your closet.

I have to post this picture here because apparently my "buy everything for Disney" bug has bitten my three year old. We were at Target yesterday and he just HAD to have this hat because "It will protect my head at Disney and it goes with my shirt"
