I know, and I know I'm being selfish. But it's just so blatantly stupid to bring in a huge meal to the nursing home, when chances are that she's not going to eat anything anyway. It's like they just can't let go of traditions and move on.
In the past 20 years, we've spent exactly one Christmas with my mother, and we've survived it, but I really think that next Christmas I'm going to insist that we just go there.

No you're not! I understand about jinxing, I really do.....three years prior to Abby I had a miscarriage, but I wasn't far along at all (4-5 weeks). We struggled for three years of uncertainty, and when Abby was on the way, we didn't stop holding our breath till we saw her heartbeat on the ultrasound. I was only seven weeks at the time, but because of my history, we did an early ultrasound. The doctor was beaming - he said seeing that so soon was a good guarantee of going to term. So by Christmas I was around 4 months, and it was like we finally dared to hope.

So. Ever since Amy posted the Santa tracker, I can't stop watching it seeing where Santa is next....and driving my co-worker crazy updating her every 5 minutes. But...well, I think Santa needs a new navigator because he's not being very efficient with his route. He went from South Korea, up to Russia, and now is back down in Hong Kong. Oh and now down to the Phillipines. Would've made WAY more sense for him to stop in the Phillipines on his way from Australia to South Korea. :shrug:

Yeah, he's not the best navigator. But he makes it work, I guess.

Perhaps someone should leave him a Garmin instead of milk & cookies.

We are also trying to clean around here...Em is insisting on doing the family room herself. I'm not gonna argue with her.

Had to let go of the idea of going out to see Santa - too icy/yucky still. Talked to my fellow slacker mom and she was basically like Jack won;t know the difference so who is the picture really for?

Between her and Nibbs I'm getting justifications for all my bad mommy behavior! Yay for good friends!!:sohappy:
