So, the way we see it, if the city were to pay a negotiated per diem rate, keep health benefits til the end of the school year, they'd save $$, time, and aggravation, and still keep an uninterrupted education for the students. So I'm sure they'll refuse that!:o

I think the "me" mentality has definitely gotten stronger.
The spirit of doing something for the common good...I believe it was a true spirit once.
Not any more.

I see it coming together at times in the midst of a crisis (post 9/11, for example), or individually. But as a collective group most of the time :shrug: Narcisissm has taken over.
