Trip Report It's Two, Two, TWO Trips in One! *COMPLETED*

Title reference for those of you younger than dirt ~

Got it? Good!

This trip report is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a picture of me and my significant other.

IMG_7324.JPG

I invite you, if you dare, to follow along on a lengthy adventure that includes three resorts, lots of flowers, exotic food and a Fruber (a what?) Because this report travels directly to.........the Tuvalu Zone.

Friday, con't

I never intend to be an eavesdropper, but some of the statements I overhear are just.......wow. There were a couple of gems this morning. The first one happened as Woody and I were walking past Stormalong Bay.

Woman (pointing) to her friend: "That Yacht Club slide is new. It wasn't here the last time I was here."
(Oh really? Cause both Yacht and Beach were built in 1990 and I'm fairly certain Stormalong Bay and the slide were constructed at that same time. And even if not, I rode that slide in 2000 during our first Beach Club stay. I'd hardly consider a 17 year old (or older) slide "new".)

The second occurred as we entered the Land.

"Hurry up, we're gonna go on the farm ride!"

What a great idea. Woody and I went on the farm ride too.
IMG_6743.JPG

We had a FP so we didn't need to "hurry up." I'm not sure if the FP got us our front row seat but it was a nice surprise.

"Mine! Mine! Mine!"

IMG_6749.JPG

I just love the Boardwalk queue of the standby line, so many fun details. My only complaint is how dark that area is. My lenses take awhile to "transition" back to clear and I am always stumbling around in the darkness.

IMG_6750.JPG

Anyway, we found Nemo so all's good.

Time for our next FP.

IMG_6751.JPG

What was I most excited about during this ride?

The TV picture is working again!! (It's the little things, folks.)
IMG_6754.JPG

What was I least excited about?

The ride stopped during our backwards descent and our entire "Welcome to your Future" video played before the ride resumed. It was a long, dark and boring remainder of the way down.

Though I'd seen this Figment topiary on my visit last month, I didn't notice his wings and the detail of his tail until today. (Note to self ~ pay attention to the entire topiary, not just the front! :banghead: )

IMG_6755.JPG

Can't have too many pictures of the "blanket on the bank."
IMG_6756.JPG

Woody and I began our walk around World Showcase. We decided on the clockwise tour and stopped in Mexico first to ride the boat. There was a long line of people beginning in the foyer and continuing down the right side ramp, culminating here ~

IMG_6757.JPG

Then it dawned on me......it was Cinco de Mayo!!!!!!! All those people were waiting for their margaritas and tequila shots! Talk about hard-core fanatics ~ it was not even noon!

The boatride was down so our trek inside was fruitless.

Woody wanted a bottle of water so we went inside the Norwegian bakery. Now before any of you cry, School Bread!, you should know that I've tried it and did not care for it (Woody has no desire to try it.) So all you School Bread lovers have nothing to worry about. ;)

We found a wall to sit on (heaven forbid there'd be a bench.....yeah, I said it again) and drank our water while people-watching.

I have no comment for this.
IMG_6758.JPG

We had a few minutes before our window opened for the-most-coveted-Disney-fastpass (although with the opening of Pandora, I suspect FEA will soon be de-throned) so we had a couple pictures taken.

IMG_7339.JPG

"Back, back, over the falls!" RIP Maelstrom.

IMG_7338.JPG

Yep, I'm rocking athletic shoes with my dress. But at least the colors match. :p

IMG_7337.JPG

(And I hope the gals in the last row didn't pay for Memory Maker in hopes of getting a good FEA ride photo....cause they got screwed.)

The "blustery" part of the day started upon our exit from FEA. Strong winds began to blow which lasted into evening. (I was tempted to cry out: "Auntie Em! Auntie Em!") We continued to admire the plantings and topiaries as we strolled the Promenade, though it was more stressful than we'd hoped. We had forgotten that Fridays in May are school field trip days, and there were elementary-aged kids everywhere. ("I wouldn't take my 3rd graders to Epcot for a thousand dollars!" Em said.)

Wish we could have adopted a Hakuna Matata attitude during our stroll.

Although watching the trains put a smile on our faces.
IMG_6760.JPG

Guess what this means ~

May 5th is Children's Day in Japan!

Isn't every day children's day???

Despite our large breakfast, Woody and I decided we were ready to eat again. And we just so happened to be near the best quick service option in World Showcase (@lostpro9het knows what I'm talking about!) Woody snagged an outdoor table at the Tangierine Cafe while I ordered.

IMG_6767.JPG

We shared the chicken shawarma ~ so, so good!!

IMG_6763.JPG

This was my view for most of my lunch.
IMG_6765.JPG

And this was Woody's.
IMG_6768.JPG

Grandma was taking a serious nap (shoe removal and hat placement indicate this was pre-meditated.) Upon awakening, she took a big swig from a flask.

I can't make this stuff up.

Captain's Grill breakfast (brunch?) looks great as always
We have stayed at Yacht the last two times and loved it and the easy access to both Epcot and DHS

And I will chime in on your lovely dress....

Woody is a lucky man - I hope he realizes it
;)

Max

You look beautiful in your floral dress! :inlove:

I always love when you share the comments you overhear. :hilarious: People really do say some pretty off the wall things (to put it nicely ) about WDW.
You both make me blush!

If my memory serves me correctly (don't hold me to it), there is/was a shrimp farm there?? When I was younger, I was surprised at what shrimp actually looked like uncooked. :hilarious:

Hasn't deterred me from eating them, though. :hungry:
There are shrimp in the tanks in the "fish tank" room of LWTL. And yeah, live shrimp are creepy looking.

The photographer on the bridge to France looked lonely so we put him to work.

IMG_7335.JPG

He got even with us though ~ he made us kiss. I am not posting the picture because when Em saw it she screamed, "My eyes! My eyes!"

I will not put you through that.

To be honest, it was a little awkward for us. Then the photographer insisted we hug: "Squeeze her hard!" I laughed nervously and this was the result ~

IMG_7336.JPG

(Perhaps I shouldn't have posted this one either?)

Remember this serene scene from this morning?
IMG_6731.JPG

Now it looked like this:
IMG_6769.JPG

We decided we would complete the World Showcase circuit and return to the Poly for a break.

But first a stop at the London Loo.
IMG_6772.JPG

Since we did not get to walk through Victoria Gardens earlier (it was closed) we took a short detour.
IMG_6774.JPG

A final butterfly pic before we flew away.

Woody decided to relax on the balcony while I went to the Lava pool. It was too cool for me to swim.....still very "blustery."

Evidence:
IMG_6781.JPG

Now I'm not sure why this inflatable was dancing by the pool (do these things have a proper name?) But he was there every day of our stay. It was a bit "used car lot" for my taste.

I found a lounge chair and called my mom. Then I called Em. There was no one on either side of me and I spoke quietly so not to bother anyone.
