Its in the details...

I'm curious to know some of people's favorite details from the parks. It could be anything: an element from a ride, a light fixture, talking trash can, reverse fountain, mickey shaped butter etc. Anything is fair game. The more random the better.

Here are some of my favorites (at least what I could think of off the top of my head)

The silohettes in the windows in SSE

The little scene with parrots and a water fall from the Tiki Room

More general, but the lighting in Tomorrowland at night

The remix version of the theme to IYHW

The astronaughts in Space Mountain

I like the themed pavement at various places in the park. Look down and notice the details! In the New Fantasyland near Dumbo, you'll see some peanut shells in the ground. In Epcot's Future World, you'll find plaques with historical achievements and at night there is pavement that lights up near Innoventions. At Animal Kingdom, the pavement is themed to look like a parking lot in Dinoland.

Here's a nice little detail, the tops of the poles in the Mermaid queue shaped like sea urchins.

The wonderful smells that draw you in to buy the yummy goodies.

I must be the only one here that thinks Disney World smells horrible in places :S

We were walking in Frontierland and I assume they were cooking Turkey legs nearby and a large man comes by inhaling deeply saying how nice they smelt, I on the other hand was holding my breath lol

-I love the windows on MS USA and I take my time and read them instead of rushing down the street.
-I love how the lights and music change from one land to the next.
-I love the beautiful mosaics inside the castle and how they tell the story of Cinderella.
-I love when you first walk into MK in the morning and all the cast members are waving to you, and also when you leave EPCOT at the end of the night they do the same thing.
-I love the different pavements throughout the parks, its a nice surprise to look down and see lights or horseshoe prints, or peanuts.
-I love how you feel like you are actually in the place that the hotels are themed after (ex. the boardwalk-NJ, the Poly-islands, AKL-Africa, etc..)
There are a million other things I love about Disney but thats a good start.

I love the way each park takes you to the past, present or future.

I love the turn of the century feel on main street. Each building is carefully designed to take you back in time.It makes me long for the simpler times I was not alive to experience.

I love the way the music just seamlessly changes when you go move from one place to another. I'm not a technical person, so I just never understood how I can be listening to music in one "land" then take a few steps into another "land" and I am hearing different music and I didn't even realized it changed & never seems to overlap. I don't understand how that's done, nor do I want to know. I just like that it is the way it is.

- Simple tunnel at the entrance to MK with the prelude of posters advertising the attractions within.
- Windows into space in the queue for Space Mountain with the moving 3D starfield as you pass, similar to the ending shot of Wrath of Khan. See here.
- Original tombstones outside the Haunted Mansion and the howling dog.
- The cobweb-covered lights in Haunted Mansion.
- Smells of Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Tower of Terror, Pirates etc.
- Tank from Last Crusade in that isolated area outside Indiana Jones and the "do not pull" rope.
- Roger Rabbit silhouette in Eddie Valiant's window.
- Crashed speeder bike outside the original Star Tours gift shop.
- Original Star Tours exit corridor with advertisements for other destinations.
- Darth Vader at the original exit to Star Tours.
- Temple and volcano at the start of Mexico boat ride.
- Windows in the Enchanted Tiki Room.

For me there are soooo many little things I love!

The Magic is all in the details for me!

But one I am especially fond of...

It's in the outside queue of Tower of Terror. There is a very old looking empty fountain...which has..on close inspection...the ghost of a water line on the inside. It's as if it really had once been filled with water, and then years of scum and age had left a mark.
This just really tickled me when I first saw it (when it couldn't have been more than a month old...and looked like it had been there for over 50 years)

That kind of stuff makes me ridiculously happy!

Ok...a couple more...

The actual street of the streets of New York in DHS.
I love marveling at it...the cracked and uneven blacktop. The faded yellow lines. What looks like decades of old gum stains...and the fact that it looked like this on day one.

I also love everything in the queue of the Muppet Theater. Random things with eyes that suddenly have more personality than some people I know. And the key under the mat. I adore this attraction!
