Its in the details...

1. There is a plaque in Seuss Landing at Universal's Islands of Adventure that says, "Because someone like you cared a whole awful lot, this park is alive where before it was not." I get chills every single time I read it.

2. The queues for Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Forbidden Journey at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Simply two of the best queues in the entire world.

3. The streets of New York and San Francisco at Universal Studios Florida. Very intimate and detailed. Just peer into one of the windows! And exploring every nook and cranny in New York is fun. There are little alleyways at every corner and the area seems so alive with The Blues Brother's Show, street actors and Revenge of the Mummy.

4. Africa and Asia at Animal Kingdom. Wow. These two lands have incredible theming. It just amazes me.

5. Port of Entry, Seuss Landing, The Lost Continent and Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Once again, the details in all of these "islands" are just overwhelmed with details. Port of Entry is made perfect with the relaxing but epic music that sets you off on your adventure.

All in all, all of the Disney and Universal parks are detailed to no end, and that's what separates them from other "theme parks". I could spend a month exploring the details in these parks and still feel like there is more. That is what simply amazes me about Universal and Disney. Those were just some of my favorite lands/little details.

As has already been posted, sooo many details to love.
Nobody has mentioned Hidden Mickey's yet, so I'll toss those in the mix.
Our local Disney Store (older pink & green style Store) even has lots of them.
I've pointed them out to CM's who didn't even know HM's were in the Store. :)

I love the immersive details in every aspect of the resorts and parks - however - my favorite detail is one we just discovered: the bar code on the oversized Tinker Toy can in the Toy Story queue actually scans as a "Tinker Toy" game.

I think MGM's Star Tours exterior was perfect before they removed the snowspeeder/skiff and replaced Endor Vendors. Approaching that area and waiting outside in line was an experience. There were photos of me as a kid with the speeder parked next to the AT-AT. You could get right up to it and appreciate it. Being a Star Wars fanatic, that area was a dream come true. I wish they hadn't dumped those vehicles on the backlot.

I love how Disney for Halloween has Micky shaped pumpkins, how clean Disney is to be such a large park, the theming down to the trash cans matching the land you are in and I even love how there's only one Mickey Mouse to be found at each park's Meet and Greets. Someone else mentioned how the music changes based on the land you are in and I love that too.:)
