It's a Small World UPDATE!...

Maybe it will be a remix!

I can see it now...

The first room has homies rappin "it's a small world."

The second room has latins livin' la vida loca to "it's a small world."

The third room will have hicks singing a country version of "it's a small world."

Followed by kids with long hair and a white painted face screaming "it's a small world." and head banging.

As stupid as that sounds I would actually like to see that somewhere else. Obviously not in place of the real "it's a small world." but it would be entertaining to see somewhere else. lol

What would be creepy is someone dying in HM.

Maybe that's how HM got its ghosts? Guests "mysteriously disappearing"? :lookaroun

I'm kidding. Please don't hurt me. I'm also assuming that the death on IASW is urban legend. :)

I'm surprised that IASW is getting such a makeover. My guess is asbestos. It'll probably end up exactly the same. Or even more annoying, if that's possible.

FYI...

It's not as behind as you may think.

Scaffolding goes-up and comes-down extremely fast and easy.

The lighting is part of the very last adjustments (besides AA's) to be worked on. Imagineers will add and adjust lighting only after painting and AA's are brought back in (to make sure colors are correct, spots are aimed correctly, etc.) Most of the cable for the lighting has already been run to accommodate the new changes.

Sound system is an easy install, and can go in before painting, AA's, and lighting.
Remember, they were basically starting from scratch. Anything they did was an improvement to the old attraction set-up. (remember the holes in the ceiling for strings, lights, and a/c returns???)

Painting would probably be the one major "hold-up", if there really is any. Look at it this way... Stitch took long to complete (by our standards) because of the re-programming of the attraction itself, and the addition of the AA's in the show theaters. The LAST thing we were all complaining about was the slow response to the asthetics on the outside of the building and what we were able to see from the outside. That part of a re-model goes extremely fast. In IASW, it is almost all asthetics. No major re-programming, just raw construction that is fairly simple to do. It's not like they are building EE (nothing like it) and need steel workers to weld I-beams into place...

I would go so far as to request they remodel the outside to reflect the changes inside! like this!...

That is freakin' cool! You make that?

Yeah.. i made that one for a thread that was around several months ago. IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY. For all the monster truck fans of course.

Tried to peek in the cracks between the construction walls when I was there 3 weeks ago...but I couldn't see a thing! Thanks for the update!

I would have it rather look like DL's... except made like DLP's... board inside... then go past this outside... then go in to show building.....

Hopefully they get this done fast and great.. (hopefully they wont have invehicle speekers.. cause that would be worse than outvehicle...)

I've been waiting patiently for an estimated completion date from someone in the know, but I guess it's just too early. We're taking 6 little first-timers down in late April and it sure would be nice if it were open.

The last date I heard was March 18, so April should be fairly safe.

"I heard it online somewhere, apparently a kid fell out of the boat and died as the boats went over him. They couldn't stop the boats in time and he died. And now, it is beleived you can still hear him crying out for help amongst the happy singing."

:brick: I know I'm beating a dead horse with this, as I should just let it go, but no one has died on IASW. Not like that, anyway. There was an accident in 2000 at Splash Mt where a man was killed like that. And there have obviously been many deaths at all of the parks (though few that can be directly attributed to the attractions). But there's no ghost at IASW. (And the Tom Sawyer thing happened at Disneyland.)

I'm really excited about riding It's a Small World once it's open again! It was in MAJOR need of a rehab the last time I rode it back in late April!

If you check over at snopes.com under the Disney section they have many of the rumors from over the years there. Some are true some are not. For those that arent web savvy, snopes is pretty much the mythbusters of the internet.

I can say that in a good majority of the cases the people who have died were doing stupid things that ended up getting them killed at the park.(BTM @ disneyland being the obvious exception.)
