It's a Small World seems a little different....

Finally? SW doesn't need one it's a walk on

Not all the time. The ride can reach up to 40 minute waits during peak times. I only imagine the ride is going to see more overflow traffic in the area when the west side of Fantasyland opens up.

I do know what you mean about putting in a next gen queue in small world, doesn't seem to make sense but at least the company is putting some money into the parks. Just trying to put a positive spin on it. ;)

My party was in the World in February and May and both times we noticed missing characters (Polynesian drummers and hula girls) as well as malfunctioning animatronics. That said, IaSW is usually a highlight of our trip, especially with 2 toddlers. I would love to see it receive some of the refurb effort larger scale and draw attractions receive regularly. Because it doesn't have fancy effects, guests forget that this is an attraction that is at the core of Disney and where it all came from. For me and my party, if Walt loved it, that's enough for us. But rest assured, I'll scrutinize the quality next week when we head back.

Next gen queues can be great I like HM and Poohs but something tells me a small world next gen queue would be awful.

I could see dust near the cieling in a few rooms, so yeah, a refurb totally wouldn't hurt.

The ceiling is so high I imagine it's a huge pain to clean. Though for those of us with dust/mold allergies a cleaning would be greatly appreciated!

It's also interesting to watch videos of iasw (insert Martin plug here) and notice the differences of what's missing/broken.

Was the six armed god (I think it's Shiva) shadow puppet working? My fellow cast members didn't believe me that it was supposed to move until it was finally fixed before the end of my CP.

The facade at the load/unload looks crappy these days. Also, since they've rerouted the line, for some reason it will now stick out into the street.
I was really confused when they switched the entrance and exit. I could be wrong since it's been almost a year since I've been, but I thought all of the switchbacks are (understandably) on the former entrance side and the former exit side is pretty much a straight shot out (now in).

small world has had a lot of dolls and scenic elements refurbed over the past couple years. there is always something missing, because that ride has a ton of moving parts and figures.

i hope the rumours of fastpass coming to small world never play out. the line already gets backed up due to the wheelchair line. i can't imagine the frustration of the fastpass and stand-by line coming to a standstill because of wheelchair.

when the queue is out the door, it's still only about a 30-35 minute wait. both boats cant ake around 48 people every 45 seconds. one of the problems of that line is the constant stopping of guests to watch all of the action of the load/unload from the elevated part of the line.

it's amazing to see how fast the outdoor queue moves into the building once it starts to rain.

Cardboardy? What do you mean? Which parts were useless for you?

Cali's is longer...quite a bit actually...but I really think aside from length they're both on the same level design wise....though I really enjoyed all the newer Disney characters added to Cali's. Kids seem to enjoy spotting the characters as well.

You're right I just was on small world and I noticed missing characters in the Mexico scene and Hawaii scene as well as a few spinning plates characters in the white final room. They must be doing refurbishments since that is what they usually do this time of year.

We rode in February and the audio is one of the things that sticks in my mind from that visit. Very . . . Off. Noticeable enough as if it were some B-mode alternate version.

Well, the enterance and exit to the show building looked liked it hadn't been changed since Walt was around...The use of Ariel and Flounder seemed useless considering she has her own attraction in DCA (I know she was added before her adventure under the sea was added over there), but I liked the use of Lilo and Stitch and some of the other characters....like I said, I don't know how to explain it...it was just...different...

I think the facade was bad in Cali. I went for the first time in May... Super dirty and paint peeling everywhere.. Granted its a more elaborate facade in Cali, but can we get out the hose??? ha

I hope when the bring the dolls back in that they are the original ones. In 2010 for the refurb they replaced and added dolls but they just have big jewels for eyes it kinda creeps me out. I love the original ride but alot of the add on are half a$$.
