In need of TLC but looks like some of the AA have been touched up or replaced. Also signs at the rides end changed or removed. Thai sign for hello Sa Wat Der Krap was taken out.

We were just there last weekend, and the audio seamed louder and clearer than I remember. I does need a fresh coat of paint and a good dusting overall.

Hello all. First post, though I've enjoyed reading these forums for quite awhile. :)

I had to comment on this because it's one of my huge pet peeves with TDO right now. The black paint they used as a background/wall color in the Polynesian room looks absolutely atrocious! It actually looks like they used one batch of paint to "cut in" and another to roll the walls. I'm not kidding, take a look the next time you're there.

And it's been that way now for at *least* a year. Why is it that ordinary folks can figure out how to paint a wall but WDW can't even get this right?!

Sorry for the rant, but this bugs the heck out of me every time I ride. It's bad enough they decided to paint all the walls black during the mid-2000s refurb. The original WDW color scheme for SW was so much more lively and vivid.

Sad that DisCo has gone from creating "John Hench Purple" to not even being able to paint a wall black. This isn't Disney quality, it isn't Six Flags quality... heck, it isn't even county fair quality. Another of Walt Disney's signature attractions left to rot. Seriously, if they can't get something this simple right, heads should roll.

I agree, a dusting would certainly help. Also, the brightness is just overwhelming and you can see every prop seam. Wish they could do something with the lighting and dim it down a little so you can still see but it's just not as stark and dated-looking.

It's just so sad. I'd love to see a regular cleaning schedule again rather than waiting until everything's so covered with dust and broken and peeling that you have to do a full refurb.

Cali's is longer...quite a bit actually...but I really think aside from length they're both on the same level design wise....though I really enjoyed all the newer Disney characters added to Cali's. Kids seem to enjoy spotting the characters as well.

The Disney characters work because it's TERRIBLY well done.

I've seen people say "UGH! WAY TO RUIN THE RIDE!" and I'd bet 90% of them haven't even seen an online video of it.

The Disney characters they added were tasteful and appropriate - they are done in the doll style, they don't look like plush toys you can buy in Disney stores. They truly fit in with the designs and are placed appropriately - their country of origin, or some other connection. And, as you said, they are a lot of fun to spot (for all ages).

I'd really love if they brought it to Florida - I know many have knee-jerk reactions to adding characters to anything (Epcot syndrome) but truthfully, it really enhanced the ride instead of detracted, and it's a lot more fun now. I sure smile a lot more and I see others doing the same.
