Maybe thats all it is, hopefully :lookaroun
FYI, I picked up the "It's a Small World" app if for no other reason than my 3 year old absolutely loves the ride, so I knew it would be a hit with her.
There are basically two different things you can do in the app:
1. You can listen to the song, and read along with the words across the bottom. While the song plays, there's a graphic of a handful of kids laying on a hill, staring up at the sky. Wherever you touch in the sky, a firework explodes.
2. This one is sort of weird. You can travel between scenes that slowly scroll across. The scenes are definitely modeled after the different rooms on the ride, but not exactly. For example, there's a rainforest room with a hippo and so forth, but it's not THE hippo. In these different scenes, virtually everything you touch reacts. Touch the hippo, for example, and he comes out of the water a bit and spits water in front of him. Touch a doll holding a trumpet and he blows the horn. The odd thing is... The song isn't sung in this mode. An instrumental version plays in the background, but there are no words... And even more oddly, each time you enter a room, one single line from the song is SPOKEN... Not sung. And it's not timed in connection with the music at all. So for example, when you enter the rainforest room, it might say "There's so much that we share." in a child's voice. That's all it says. Then if you play around in the room for 5 minutes, and go to another, it'll be another line, SPOKEN, from the song. You move between rooms in a hot air balloon.
Those are the two things you can do on the app. That's it. No building a doll, nothing like that.
For $3.99, I was disappointed. That's expensive for what you get. My 3 year old that LOVES the ride was bored after about 8 or 9 minutes and switched over to Monkey Lunchbox.
EDIT TO ADD: Looking at the leaked concept art, the app is DEFINITELY NOT RELATED. Not at all, not one bit.
