Great thread!
My first trip was to Epcot sometime in the 80s. My parents owned a condo in St Pete. We would come down for several weeks every summer and would drive to Orlando to go to one of the parks for a day and drive back that evening. Epcot was so cool. Figment, Body Wars, Journey into the Imagination and all the countries. Then came MGM. It was ok, but not as cool as Epcot (was). We never considered MK because it was "for kids".
A decade later, my DW and I adopted our son and came back to WDW staying on site for the first time. My DS was 4 and MK was our first visit. By the time we got to the castle, my DW and I agreed this was the coolest place and watching my DS take it all in was magical. We stayed all day watched the fireworks. By the end, I had tears in my eyes and wondered how we could have ever thought the place was just for kids.
My DS is now 15 and has been to WDW 7 times, with his 8th trip in about a month. Watching Wishes our first night from in front of the castle is our family tradition now and I still get tears in my eyes.
