Itinerary Reasonable?

Obviously this may be different for everyone, but bear with me - If nothing else - getting this out there may help organize my thoughts.

We are going to WDW in about two weeks. Restaurants have been booked and I am pretty much set on what park we will be in and when. I know that we will be a bit scheduled because of ADR's, but I don't want to be so scheduled. This is my second trip ever - first one was 8 years ago, and my 4 year old son's first. It is just the 3 of us (DH too), and we want to be able to enjoy mostly everything, without being stressed or feeling rushed. Anyway....

We arrive in a Saturday (after Thanksgiving). Since we will be driving from a 3 day stay in NC, I am not 100% sure on what time we will arrive, but my goal is between 2 and 3. We have tickets to use that day, just because it cost next to nothing to add them. I figured we would settle in, explore some of the hotel (POP) and then maybe head over to MK for a counter service dinner and to catch the fireworks and spectro parade.

Sunday we planned for Animal Kingdom. My son is most excited about the dino stuff there, so we figured we should get that done so we don't hear days of "when are we going Dino land". We have lunch at the Tusker House and plan to eat at T-REX later that night and then just relax at the hotel.

Monday is MK with a late breakfast at Crystal Palace and a 7:30 dinner at Tony's. I know some don't like it there, but whatever.

On Tuesday we plan to spend some time at DTD. We have a 4:00 ADR at Wolfgang Puck and then we will go to the MVMCP afterward.

Since we will be out pretty late on Tuesday and my son will probably be a bit tired, we figured a 9:30 breakfast at Ohana on Wednesday then maybe just hanging out at the hotel for a while before heading to Epcot for the afternoon and evening. We have dinner there at 7:30.

Thursday we are going to HS and have a late lunch planned at Hollywood and Vine.

Friday we don't have a particular park in mind and don't have any ADR's to worry about. I figured we would let my son choose what park he wants to go back too, and do his favorite things there. I can almost guarantee it will be AK, so we will probably go there for the AM and then maybe head to the outlets for the afternoon and probably go back to Epcot for the evening, since they have EMH then.

Saturday we are leaving, but since we are driving and stopping half way at my sister's for a few additional days, we have no real time constraint, so we will probably do one park for a couple of hours in the morning and head out after lunch.

So does this sound reasonable? Do you think that we will get to experience and enjoy enough of what Disney has to offer without rushing around?

So sorry this was so long!!!

Actually, sounds very reasonable. I don't see how you would have any trouble with anything on that list. I should have you plan my itineraries.

BTW - Isn't it fun planning out your Disney itinerary? I seriously start doing it as soon as I make our reservations, even though park hours haven't been set yet and it's too early to make ADR's. I tweak it all the time up until we leave, as park hours are released and as we make ADR's. I love it!

Thanks! I have had fun planning, and I am getting so excited! Serioulsy couldn't sleep last night - I know I am never going to sleep for the few days before. I have no idea what I will do once we are home and I won't be planning anymore!

Your itinerary looks great! You've got the basics down, and even have the extra day with no reservations so you can hit a park for a second day.

Since you'll have your own car, use it! It's much easier to get around, especially for reservations at other hotels (like the breakfast at Ohana). The only time it might be better to take the bus would be to Magic Kingdom... but when we go, we usually drive to MK at least once, so we can take the monorail around the lake and through the Contemporary.

Have a great time!

Do what I do - Book and start planning your next trip before you leave. Makes coming home a lot easier.

Skip Wolfgang Puck and go for T-Rex. I was just there and at peak 6:30 pm no line to get a table. We should have done that, instead, Puck was slow, slow, slow, limited choices and quite costly for the so-so food served.

We are doing both T-REX and Wolfgang. T-REX is the only thing my son wants and Wolfgang is the only request my husband made so since we are not going every year and more like every 5 or so, I figure give them what they want and go with the flow!

Thanks everyone for the replies.

My #1 piece of advice (considering your son's age) is be prepared to change your plans in case he gets tired. I think a lot of people (not necessarily yourself) forget how tiring WDW can be. Equally when I was that age I used to get really frustrated by always going back to the hotels for a 'rest' whether it was right to do so or not. Also remember that EHM does not mean the parks are quieter just open longer (sometimes it can be better going to MK when Epcot's got PM EMH for example)
