Italian Restaurant Suggestion?

For years, my family and I have visited Mama Melrose's and Via Napolo. I want to try a new Italian restaurant during our upcoming trip, but there are many options. We have the deluxe free dining plan and considered Tutto Italia Ristorante for dinner. Do you have any suggestions?

If wanting to try something different and use the dining plan, I think Tutto Italia is a good choice. I really enjoyed the lasagna on a recent visit. Trattoria al Forno (on the Boardwalk) is also good - the chicken parm and wood-fired pizza are some favorites. I've not been in a long time but have been hearing that Tony's Town Square in Magic Kingdom is much improved. You can probably find relatively recent reviews of all of these on YouTube if you want to get a sense of atmosphere or see some of the food. NOT on the dining plan, Il Mulino in the Swan hotel is very good. Have fun!!

Tonys had a long stetch of time where the quality has slipped and it was a spot we avoided. Last trip back (2 years ) we decided to give them a try because reviews had changed where people were approving of them again. We were pleasantly surprised with what we received. It isnt the same level of Italian other spots mentioned above are serving, but it is a dining spot to try if you are in MK.

I think Trattoria al Forno is good. It is even better when you consider value. I can eat there, enjoy the food, and not feel like I was fleeced when I get the check.

Of course the OP is on the dining plan, so that makes things a little different, but it is still a solid bet.

Disney and Italian does not go together. It does if you're not from the Northeast.

For fine dining...

Just a nice walk (or boat ride) from EPCOT's France gate or from DHS.
Good suggestion, but it isn't part of the DDP.

We liked Trattoria al Forno on a recent visit. Part of what made it great was the service. We were pretty hungry when we arrived, and asked if we could quickly have some bread + olives. Both arrived promptly and that was the start of a great meal.

As Florida pizza goes, theirs are pretty good. We had the simple Margherita. My favorite WDW pizza though is still Blaze.

Blaze is just personal pizzas, but they are pretty good, and it is inexpensive to eat there. (good choice when no DDP.)

We also had a good meal at Topolino's, but it is not 100% Italian. The menu is 'flavors of the Riviera." Also, you can eat there on the DDP, but it is a double credit option.

Another vote for Trattoria Al Forno…it’s no longer on the menu, but they have a breakfast calzone that is IMHO, the BEST breakfast on property! They WILL make it if you ask VERY nice…my mouth is watering as we speak…we’re from Jersey, so Disney pizza is verboten, lol

ETA: the calzone was called King Triton’s Shipwreck Al Forno…you can still Google pictures of it

I hadn't been to Tony's in MK since I was a kid (like 30 years). We tried it the other day and actually really liked it! I kept hearing about how bad it was but we enjoyed it. The garlic bread was soo good and I really loved my Tortellini al Forno! Service was excellent too.
