Trip Report It Is What It Is... Our Journey To The Dark Side...Sept 2023 (Completed)

Hey there everyone!

We are back! I have to say, it was a Disney trip that was VERY different from those in the past. I am happy and excited to share it all with you all, as long as you are patient with me. Lol. You know – me -the one that takes 4 plus years to finish up a report!

That being said, I need to take care of some unfinished business before I start this epic tale. If you don’t know what I mean…. Here is the link to September 2019 trip which I am desperately trying to wrap up.

Thanks to all of you who helped get me excited for this trip and gave me such good advice and tips for our journey!

Here we go…

Oh my goodness!! Congratulations to Julia and Nick!!
THANK YOU!!

romantic lady and the tramp GIF

Congratulations! What a lot of mom feels on this trip! An engagement and at least two firsts for Hope (sandwich, character meet)!

Yes - this trip was quite the emotional journey!!

Well it seems "the boy" is going to turn into the "son in law"! Congratulations! This is all very exciting!
Those pictures of Hope and Daisy🥰

Haha - yes , the son-in-law seems to be imminent!! I am lucky, he is a good boy!

Oh my goodness!!! I wasn't expecting that one!
Congrats Celebrate GIF by Sesame Street

I'm just in love with the progress Hope has made and it made me tear up she was so upset at "losing" her sister. So sweet! Can't wait for the Tokyo trip report!! 😁

Thank you so much!! I'm happy to report she's doing better with the idea of Julia getting married. I think she likes the idea that Julia asked her to be her maid of honor. (Not that she knows exactly what that means!). lol

Woo Hoo a wedding to plan!! Congrats!!!

This is going to sound terrible of me, but we lucked out and our daughter and her now husband eloped.

We are in full planning mode! I would have killed them if they eloped!! I want to enjoy my baby girl on her special day!!

Congratulations Julia!
Thank you!!!!

September 21, 2023

I woke up around 6 AM and got the lightning Lane Tron VQ group 65. I packed up the rest of our stuff and got everything ready to go down to bell services. I collected whatever snacks we didn’t eat and posted them on my Facebook group.

Then the three of us headed out. Nick and Julia were doing their own thing. We said we would meet up at the former magical express pick up at around 530 to call our Lyft back to the airport.

When we got to the lobby, some friends were there meeting people.

We left our stuff with bell services and then headed to MK one last time.

I didn’t take too many pictures of this day because honestly, it always goes so fast, and I just wanted to take it all in.

We had to visit our monster friends one more time…

We rode Buzz too – another favorite of ours.

IMG_1347.JPG

We had a visit though the 100 acre woods and then wanted to get a bite to eat.

We found a spot at CHH and I mobile ordered for Ross and Hope. I made a mobile order too…. But not for there. I had wanted to try the spicy chicken waffle sandwich from Sleepy Hollow. So as soon as Ross and Hope had their meals, I walked over to get mine.

IMG_1358.jpg

It was Delicious!! My only complaint is that it was so huge! I could barely finish it and it was too spicy for Ross or Hope to even try.

After lunch, we watched Mickey’s Pilharmagic – another favorite.

Then it was time for Tron…

We called the Lyfts, and made sure that Julia and Nicolas got theirs first. Lol

Ours followed close behind theirs and we reached terminal C at MCO. We walked, checked our bags and then walked through TSA pre-check. We were the only ones there. Terminal C is not only beautiful, but it really is easy to navigate.

Of course, our family can not be drama free… as we were going through TSA Precheck, the agent indicated that Julia’s ID was expired! I sort of lost my breath, and I think Ross did too. I was waiting to hear that she couldn’t get on the plane. I was even more surprised that the agent in Newark didn’t catch it. Thankfully, he said it didn’t matter, and he could let her through. Although I would not have complained if I had to stay in Florida for a while longer.

Once that was through my bag got flagged to be checked. I couldn’t imagine what it was until I realized, and I saw the woman pull out the container of sunscreen. I had forgotten all about it. It got tossed it off we went.

We had plenty of time almost 2 hours, but I didn’t because I wanted to look around the terminal at least a little bit. We managed to go into the Disney store after 10 days at Disney’s I finally found a mug from my mother. It did not say grandma, but it said mom, so it is what it is. We bought a couple more things and that’s when Hope decided she wanted the 100th year Mickey Mouse. I wouldn’t say no… she really didn’t ask for a lot this trip, so she got it.

Then we decided to have something to eat so we picked Chick-fil-A of course. It was excellent! Nick and Julia also had Chick-fil-A and we sat and admired the terminal and relaxed a little bit.

We headed towards our gate. Hope and I stopped to change into our warmer clothes. We were going from high 90° weather to New York where it was listed as 47° when we landed. After we got changed, I found a place to grab some coffee and an orange juice for Ross. Next time I said I wanted to stop and take time to eat at Art Smith’s sunshine Diner. It looked really good!

Hope and I took a little look around the terminal before getting to Gate 230. And then we just had a short wait until our plan was boarding.

We didn’t have Wi-Fi on the flight and the flight attendants asked everyone to call and complain since that meant there was no entertainment. I put my earbuds in and just listen to music. I tried to sleep but I could never really sleep on planes.

It was an OK flight with a little turbulence. Soon enough, we were home sweet home. But Hope was excited because…

Yes – we were going back for Christmas. Staying at POP Century and looking forward to the Festival of The Holidays at Epcot!

Our trip was amazing… seeing the top floor of Imagination and meeting up with great friends, sharing it all with Nick, and enjoying our time together. It was different from prior trips, and of course my baby girl’s engagement was crazy and wonderful. And it has been a treasure to share it with all of you!!

Great TR-I'm so glad you did it!! Can't wait for your next one!!
Congrats on the engagement-super exciting!!
And, my gosh--that was a ton of left over snacks!!

Thank you!! You don't have to wait long... I'm sick in bed, so I'm starting now. lol.

It was a lot of snacks! I though we would snack more - but we just didn't. But they were all picked up by the time we left! So I know they didn't go to waste.
