Trip Report It’s broken. A Loco Christmas TR!

Hello everyone!
Robin Williams Hello GIF by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

We just got back yesterday from our weeklong stay at WDW and as promised, I am here to deliver a full blown loco_driver TR. I have about a million pictures to sort through still, but we have enough to get started. Let’s do this!

When: December 4-11

Who: Me and the wife A, or Mrs. Loco if you will. Pickle the dog would not be making the trip.

Where: Split stay between OKW and Riviera.

With all the formalities out of the way, let’s do it to it!

Day 3 continued.

We were early for lunch thanks to the boat being faster than planned. We relaxed in the lobby while we waited.

I was finally able to get us an adr that evening at boathouse while we waited.

We checked in for lunch 15 minutes early, and were seated fairly quickly. I do not remember our servers name, but he was slow and grumpy. Not haha grumpy, just grumpy. We both had burnt end nachos.

Whispering canyon went to a brunch menu for lunch back in august(we happened to be there the day it went into effect). I am not a fan of that move be cause it ruined the lunch skillet.

Luckily the burnt end nachos remain on the lunch menu.

We opted for lunch from roaring fork. There’s a good little cake under all that fondant.

We weren’t as lucky with our return boat service to MK. We waited all 20 minutes for a boat to arrive. This companion dog was just begging me to pet it. I somehow resisted.

We had originally planned to head back to our hotel after lunch, but we were feeling good and the weather was nice, so we went back in to MK for more fun.

The train station is looking good.

Now if we could only get an actual train…

I am so ready for the train to return.

Day three continued.

The Dapper Dans were nearing the end of their performance when we walked in. We enjoyed their last few songs.

We heard lots of chatter around Main Street about genie+ not working because of Amazon web services being down. Having not purchased genie+, we were not greatly effect by the outage(other that some trouble with ADRs in MDE). I do wonder if that was why so many attractions went down all at once, but I don’t know enough about any of that stuff.

Anyways since we weren’t fretting about making ride reservations or anything like that, we walked right in to the modified M&G with the big mouse himself!

It’s not quite like it used to be, but it’s a start!

Since most people seemed to be in line at guest services, it felt like main street was empty! There was only one party ahead of us to take tree pictures.

A cavalcade came by.

There were plenty of PPP around the castle.

The princess cavalcade was approaching, so we waited near the ice cream parlor. I’m not sure if there was an unusually large number of dogs out this day, or if I was just noticing them more because I missed our dogs.

The super zoom guy was standing next to us. So we gave him something to do for a few minutes.

Of course we had to check out the Mickey and Minnie statues.

We enjoyed the Main Street Philharmonic band performing on the castle stage.

I was a band kid all the way through college(act surprised!), so anytime I can watch these guys it’s a pleasure.

Day three continued.

We bussed back to OKW and headed to hospitality house for our boat to Disney Springs. Dinner was at one of our newer favorites, boathouse!

When I checked in there was a bit of an issue finding our reservation. I was worried because of the computer problems that everyone was having around the time I made the reservation. I pulled up the reservation number and the host was finally able to find me.

It was a nice evening so we opted for outdoor dining.

@ajrwdwgirl I have searched and searched and not found the secret ingredient!

A had the grilled mahi tacos which she absolutely loved.

I had the Shrimp and Andouille Mac and cheese, which is also outstanding.

Our servers name was Gio, and he was the absolute best server we had all week. He was friendly without being too chatty, and our drinks were always full without us even noticing him. He also brought us a little anniversary dessert.

It was another great meal. The Boathouse has quickly moved up our list of favorite restaurants. Finally a reason for me to go to Disney Springs!

We looked around a few stores, but weren’t feeling too inspired to buy anything. We ended walking over to Saratoga for a bus to studios.

Maybe the secret ingredient is Disney Magic!!! Hahah. I think it is Worcestershire sauce.

Very sweet!
And how do you find the "from above" zoom photo pass people?
The one in AK has a sign that I just accidentally saw(it’s between Everest and the Nemo theater. We’d done the MK one years ago, it’s in front of plaza. I think we just randomly found the one near SSE. There’s one in galaxy’s edge as well.

“Disney Magic” is much easier to say than “Worcestershesterlesterbdjcjenfjc sauce”.

We enjoyed the tower projections and sunset boulevard before calling it a night.
