It’s been 14 years since Tomorrowland has gotten any real additions so why do we keep feeding into rumors of an updated land?

It's so weird bc the last round of news we heard about the peoplemover sounded more promising than any rumor that's circulated before. We know that the track was surveyed for "viability of reuse" not long ago and it passed... That means no crazy dramatic demolishing... they could literally run an attraction up there if they wanted to. This was confirmed by multiple sources from all over including our very own, marni1971. Besides that, I had also seperately heard about conctruction companies bidding over the tomorrowland overhaul a couple months back.

Not sure what's going on but my more optimistic side wants to believe they're secretly deep into scheming a full blown comeback.

Aside from moving some of Pirates' line inside they've basically overhauled, or done some notable pathways expansion, for every land in the park except Fantasyland's northeast side (FL theater and motorboat areas) and Tomorrowland. They have to be targeting those areas next.

Sounds like they are in the planning/review phase for a project and seeing what the costs would look like.

What he said specifically, while showing an image of ALL of the projects across ALL of the parks around the world, "I can't wait for you to see these projects start to come to life over the next 5 years."

That can be interpreted many ways. This could easily mean that sometime in the next 5 years they will start breaking ground on some (or many) of these new projects, but it doesn't necessarily elude to the fact that all of the DCA projects will be done and open within 5 years.

That said, we do know that the AC additions are breaking ground soon and can very well be finished within 5 years, but we have no clue when Coco or Avatar will start breaking ground, let alone when they will be finished.
It would be amazing if they could open all four attractions within 5 years, 2029ish. DCA really needs some immersive E-Ticket attractions. When it comes to visiting DCA or Disneyland, the latter is always at the top of everyone’s mind. It’s not to say that DCA is a bad park, it just doesn’t nearly have even half of the attraction star power that Disneyland has. They should have never stopped adding new immersive attractions after 2012 and kept the momentum going but instead, they chose to do a bunch of half assed reskins. I wish current management had the same desire to boost capacity as well as creative theming as Walt and his team had back in the day.

A good example being Disneyland back in 1961, the park was already a full day park, a little bare in some areas but it had 26 rides and the same number of attractions. From Summer 1962 to Summer 1967 over the course of five years, the park had a boom of new rides, new lands, new attractions as well as some great updates. Adventureland became a full fledged land by adding the Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse, Tahitian Terrace, Safari Shooting Gallery and the Jungle Cruise was updated becoming the ride we know and love today. New Orleans Square was created and opened Pirates of the Caribbean the following year. Tomorrowland was updated visually and opened with seven new attractions. The 10th anniversary celebration added Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, the Plaza Inn, the Sub Lagoon live mermaids and the iconic new Skyway buckets. Other attractions that opened were Mr. Lincoln, Disneyland RR’s Primeval World, the Columbia Ship below-decks area, the memorable Christmas Fantasy on Parade and it’s a Small World. Attractions like The Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were proposed to be added during this time but were pushed back, while the Mansion’s exterior was built as early as 1962.

The likes of this growth will never happen again and should’ve been the case for DCA over the last couple of years. The future will show whether the park’s new additions help it to stand a little taller next to Disneyland. I hope the park’s next five years bring it to a new and exciting level.
