Happy late Thanksgiving everyone...

I got another update for y'all...

I went to the parks today with Kenan, (Kenan from the boards)

we started out at MK...

--The trees in the hub were taken out, and replanted with entirely new Holiday plants. After the holidays are over, I hope they leave the trees out...it looks much better.
--Big Thunder Mountain was OPEN today. The Smokestack's were on, and everything was working fine. They switched the FP line, and standby line, and the FP line takes you all the way around Standby. I also dont think they added AC to the load/unload area. There were vents, but I thought they had always been there.
--The MK Christmas tree is now up.
--And the Jasemine scent in Philharmagic wasnt working today

then at MGM...
--They have changed the Haunted Mansion set tour around a bit, adding a few tombstones in the front of the sign, and not stopping you in the corridor anymore. They also take a MUCH larger group of people than they did when it first opened.
--The Animation Tour is back open also. You walk into the first room, with a pretty funny movie staring Mushu, and then go into another part of the studio, and some things are explained, and questions are answered. The lady said the studio is on Hiatus, and that "Home on the Range" (which, last I heard, was complete) was sent to WDFA-Burbank for completion. You then went into the depressing studio. The lights were off, screensavers were on, and most of insides of the desks were cleared out. So...Kenan and I went into the Draw your own character thing, and we TRIED to draw Mickey Mouse. Mine came out with a dent in its chin, a jellybean for the nose, an egg for an ear, and a loaf of bread for the other ear...(I even labeled all the parts) Kenan's didnt come out much better, but the girl next to us, who was like 8, had us both beat (well, her and her mom did)
--The Studios were holding auditions for a new ABC show "The Swap" and had a sign saying "Any family with 2 parents, and children, and would like to have a chance to be on tv, come to soundstage 1" and they interviewed you right on the spot
--Stunt Show construction is coming by good, and half of the NY construction is done aswell....But just as thats done, they have set up construction walls around ANOTHER facade, further up the street, and all the windows from that building have been taken out.

--SO....With nothing else to do, and TOT and RNRC flooded with people, we went on the Backlot Tour (Kenan knows whats coming:lol: ) So, we were both in the front of the line, waiting on the ramp, to get into the special effects water tank. They came by and asked if we wanted to do it. Me running my big mouth, I was like "OF COURSE!!!" and convinced Kenan to do it to. So we got down there, and got our blue poncho's on, and great big giant, impossible to walk in boots on, and were given the part of the 2 guys on the boat when it gets attacked. So, we're cleaning and cleaning, and the waters exploding, and im dying, and Kenan's pointing in the wrong direction...and it seemed to go on forever. The lady was like "OH NO, theres a torpedo! Wheww, that was close...but then you think its over, and here comes a bomb!...Wheww, you made it thru that one, but just when you think its over..." and she went on FOREVER   ...It stunk we didnt get to see ourselves on the monitors or on a small tv or something.

So, we did the Backlot Tour, and they now have a speel for the stunt show included in the ride.

Anyways, Im dead tired, and I dont have any pictures this time, cuz the batteries were low, and everything came out black. We had some good ones of us in the poncho's too. Btw Kenan, it started POURIN' again when I got home, but Im Finally dry now:D

It was EXTREMELY crowded, but we never really encountered one line all day, except at the HM sets

But we did:
Thunder
Splash
Tom Saywer Island
Philharmagic
TTA
Jungle Cruise
Haunted Mansion
TimeKeeper
Animation Tour
Haunted Mansion Sets
Backlot Tour

And Im sure Im forgetting something, but it was crazy busy

Sounds like good business then...crowds on holidays is a good sign I guess...thanks for the 411.

thats no good that the picture aint come out....we'll have to do that part again....
actually, for those of you that wanna try the "special effects tank" actor and actress, go for it. you have to be in the front of the line tho. it was actually pretty fun. and then when its over, the people in the audience get to watch what you just did. they were laughing, but thank god i aint have to say nothing, cause i dont have much of a voice to do so. (sore throat, which makes it sound like i have laryngitis) most of the time, you couldnt understand me, could you? lol

After reading about the Florida animation facility closing down / hiatus / shuttered, call it what you will, I was not expecting the tour to reopen – how can you tour something that’s no longer there? Must be sad to see all the empty desks.

Maybe they will come out of hiatus in the future. Here’s hoping.

I also agree that the "actors" on the Backstage Tour should get to see themselves on the screen after the "show". I was chosen to be on the boat also, and really doing it was not all that fun. It was cold and I was pretty soaked. But it would have been worth it if I could have seen the finished product. My family was telling me how hilarious it was, and I hated that I could not see it. The could easily have a monitor back there in the area that you get dressed in. The monitor could just play a loop of the previously recorded show. It's short, so by the time you get dressed you could have watched it a few times.

haha, you got on da eavil boat.

At last you had fun at WDW.
You know a pirate themed version would work soo nicely in there instead of the current pearl hobbor.
